UPDATED: FEB 5, 2014 Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a dark amber color with a medium sized foamy white head that faded and left good lacing. The aroma was tart apple and pear, brett, bread and a hint of clove. The flavor was brett up front followed by must, funk, apple, and pear. Tasted a bit water with a tangy undertone of citrus and clove. Medium length funky brett and apple finish. Medium body. Ok.

Draft at Rezervoir Lounge - pours a hazy gold , decent barnyard aromas . Taste was alittle lacking on the Brett side , was hoping for a more pronounced sour/funk flavor. Still drinkable but alil let down .

10oz on tap at Neon’s. Half hazy orange red color. Little white head. Some good, bigger swaths of lace. Smooth, crisp, lighter carbonation. Bigger body. Lightly slick finish. Some grapefruit, belgian yeast, light bit of spice. Moderate tart taste, light sour, light sweet.

Sample at p house a couple days after their gross goose event. Poured a brownish gold color or something like that, not much head or lacing to note. Bland grains, malt, vanilla, soapy yeast are the highlights. Lots of nothingness in this macro produced craft beer. Gay as hell, pissing me off!

Draught at Lexington Beerworks. Orange in color with citrus yeast and that nice taste of sour that takes it into a really good place.

Sampled at Stl Hops 6th Anniversary Party. A bit of a disappointment. Softer and lighter than Matilda. The wild yeast might not have developed yet. Flavors were muted and too gentle. A nice beer but I hoped for more.

Is it worth it to rate sours? Does it make sense to like the flavor of something that is vaguely fungal funky? Still it's a good and interesting brew. Richer amber color than I expected and more subtle malt flavor than the regular Matilda. Funk and yeast on the nose with something I can't place. The flavor hits the middle of the tongue and is strange flowing into so interesting and layered that I like it even tho I don't. Strange brew.

Funky and earthy but without that bite of tart I expect from a sour ale. Not bad, but a little disappointing.

Draft sample at Spirits in Brick NJ. Poured a cloudy light amber color with a thick pillowy off white head. Aroma is sweet and funky. Taste mimics the nose. Sweet darker fruits, yeast, Brett, and some tart citrus notes.
