Love it. Has the same qualities as Matilda with the funk of the Brett. Well done. On tap at Hawthornes in Philly.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Extremely bready nose very yeasty, not too bad though. The slight esters slowly came through the thick white head. Oh BTW it was on tap. Great sour character with slight sharp cheddar character. I’d have again.

On tap at The Oak. Dark fruit aroma. Very clean feel. Very refreshing. Slight alcohol sense in the background. Also funk present throughout.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap: clear, golden-amber color with a foamy, bright white collar, not much of a real head to speak of at all. Aroma is full of Belgian yeast & notes of cotton-like, funky brettanomyces. Hay, zesty spices, mild pepper-y notes, lemon spritz, & mild wet blanket. Very faint citrusy aroma. Taste starts with a mild lemon-lime splash backed up by a huge backbone of Brett yeast. Wet cotton, hay, dry oak-y notes, faint spices (coriander?), bubblegum, earthy esters... Heavy Brett yeast, very Belgian-esque all the way through. A good Belgian ale, though I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting so much more; I think I prefer the original Matilda.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours amber with a off white head. Taste Brett, funky/earthy. I thought this was so so. I would skip this down the road.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Half pint purchased at Hopleaf for $4.00. Fruity sweet yeasty character, pears notes, with some light barnyard and leather aromas. The flavor will not surprise you much. Same as the aroma with the addition of some tartness and mild traces of sourness. As far as the sourness… it is really weak and most like disappoint most sour heads. In all honesty to me it doesn’t taste much different, even with the Lambic yeast strain. The body and the carbonation are normal and overall the beer doesn’t have any problems. So to me this version of the beer doesn’t change how I feel about Matilda. I think I would just rather drink the standard version if they both are in front of me.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bronze throughout with a tiny haze. Nose has a bit of tart grape skins but honestly nothing excessive. Taste is very nice. That malt Matilda bite followed with blueberry acidic notes and peaches and leathery tart funk.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap: The aroma consists of fruit, cotton candy, brett, and faint sweet tarts. It’s a transparent amber with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of fruit and light cotton candy. The finish has light-moderate floral notes, brett, and just a hint of sweet tarts. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat sticky mouthfeel.
