The sourness of the beer is a really nice comparison to normal Matilda. Nice stuff

Jesterdeal (1640) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - SEP 24, 2013
On tap at the Mex Food Factory. Aroma of nice Brett barnyard, bandaid funk, and grape must. Pours hazy orange with a small hazy head. Taste is nice at first with a nice bandaid funk but gives way to the Matilda boring golden ale quickly. Stale bread and bananas. Easy to drink.

Pours a clear gold/lt amber with a thin white head. Aroma very subtle touches of tartness and candi sugar beneathnice funk and leather. Flavor follows suit and adds nice soft earthy hoppiness and woody notes. Mouthfeel is light/medium and silky with a dry leathery/oaky finish.

Hazy golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of brett, toasted malts, toffee, grass, and light spices. Taste of vanilla, toasted malts, some toffee, light spices, and a wild, bretty finish. Great improvement.

Growler from Whole Foods. If I read another review complaining that a brett beer doesnít have enough sour, Iím going to scream. Brett does not equal sour. Other yeasty beasties create sourness. Brett creates minimal sourness. Plenty of funk, but not sour. Aaargghh! In any case. Deep gold, some solid haziness as you hit the bottom of the growler. Slight head. Aroma is funk, wheat, pear fruit, touch of grassiness. Flavor matches, maybe a touch of cheesiness in there too. Really like what the brett did with the Matilda malts. Well done, Goose Island always seems capable of impressing me.

On tap @ Churchillís. Light orange in color with a white head. Nose is cracker, pepper, and spicy phenols. Big yeast aroma, some sweet malt, a hint of candied citrus, and pear. Flavor is pretty heavy on the spice. Cracker and sweet malt. Pear, candied orange peel, yeast, and a subtle funk.

tap. Either I was given the wrong beer, or this isnít even a little bit sour. No noticeable brett. Flavor is pleasant with some mild belgian spice, but not what I expected. Based on the other reviews, I see Iím not the only one.
