GodOfThunder (855), Orlando, Florida, USA May 15, 2009 I don’t remember which of the Orlando guys shared this with me, so I’ll thank them all for being a kick ass bunch of guys. Malty aroma with dark fruits and some spices. Flavors follow, with a good malt character. tmoreau (527), Lombard, Illinois, USA May 14, 2009 Enjoyed in a Matilda chalice at Lunar Brewing Co. for the GI Past Meets Present tasting. Poured a clear, amber with an off white head that diminished to a light layer and left some fair lacing. The aroma was that of malt sweetness, yeast, mid-toned fruit, and some floral and spice notes. The flavor combined these with a smooth malt character, a bit of alcohol, and a nice, dry finish. MrChopin (621), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 13, 2009 Bottle thanks to kryptic! Tepid orange-amber with a fizzy white ring for a head that no coaxing could help. Grainy, floral nose of cherry and honey, some yeast and earth, like creek bed (yes, that is a scent). Medicinal flavor of honey, too much alcohol. Some cheap fizz in the body, alleviates the syrupy texture. Overall pretty weak effort. Most Belgian Ales I’ve had are somewhat complex, and at the least, light on their feet and refreshing. This is neither. Dedollewaitor (3622), Odense, Denmark May 12, 2009 12fl bottle @ Liva, Kolding. Pours a clear amber with tiny yeast chunks and a creamy white foam and lacings. Nose is fruity, yeasty and spicy. Orange and herbs. Taste is dry and crisp with notes of hops, funk, fruits, medicine, cellar and yeast. Smooth palate. Not as complex as the "almighty" but however .- Very tasty indeed! johndoughty (2150), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England May 9, 2009 Bottle. Full head upon pouring. Flowery and pleasant. Bronze appearance and slightly sweet. A good example of this style. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark May 8, 2009 Beautiful amber with a small white head. Aroma is fruity with pineapple, peach, melon and banana, plus some spice and dark sugar. Sweet malty and well hopped flavour with a touch of alcohol. lacking in complexity. joergen (8429), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 8, 2009 Bottle at Ølbaren.
Hazy golden coloured with a small white head.
Fruity aroma of spices and peaches with notes of yeast and hops.
Fruity flavour of peaches, hops and spices with notes of yeast.
Spicy and hoppy finish. wxman (582), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA May 7, 2009 Pours a slightly cloudy orange/amber with a minimal antique lace head. Not much aroma; some notes of wet grass. Somewhat sour off flavor, but yet none-the-less pleasant. Wild yeast and spiciness present as well. Nice effort.
