NickTheElder (25), California, USA Apr 9, 2009 Light aroma, nice clean head kind of a hazy yellow color. Sweet with spices. A good beer for the style. shawnm213 (884), South Bend, Indiana, USA Apr 9, 2009 pours a deep amber with a medium white head. smells a little fruity. light sweetness. bconley (351), Fern Park, Florida, USA Apr 8, 2009 Thanks to cmilward at redlight. Looks alot like orval, but its alot sweeter than orval is. lots more appley and sugary. This one didn’t have the great mouthfeel that orval did either. mspindler (301), Alta Loma, California, USA Apr 7, 2009 Bottle shared by NickTheElder. Pours a hazy yellow with some orange and a big off white head. Aroma is under ripe banana and spicy yeast. Flavor has some of the same with some bread and peppery lemon. Finishes fruity but dry. Palate is moderate with alot of foamy carbonation. Easy going down. A decent Belgian style ale. AndyReynolds (280), Wilder, Kentucky, USA Apr 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours an orangish gold with a nice white head. Aroma is yeast, malts, and citrus. The taste is about the same. The citrus flavor really comes out in the finish. I really like this beer for the style it is. It reminds me of Germany and good times had there. I would recommend this, but not an everyday beer. jfenglish (198), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 5, 2009 Draft- Cullen’s- Chicago. Hazy yellow/amber served in a 12 oz goblet. Strong aroma of grass and yeast. Taste is funky and off- heavy grass, heavy yeast, sorry if I missed the point of this one- not pleasant. Some dried fruit trying to make its way to the end of this strange brew. Based on the other ratings (and my bias towards Goose Island beers), I may have gotten a bad pour. Who knows. Glad this one is over. Hophead22 (1056), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA Apr 5, 2009 12oz bottle from NicktheElder, thanks Nick. Medium gold pour with a white head. Spicy sweet aroma, some orange peel maybe. Light sweetness, easy to drink, not bad. Anareon (12), Fairview Heights, Illinois, USA Apr 5, 2009 Updated: Apr 6, 2009 Draft. The hops provide a subdued piney flavour that persist throughout the drink and is balanced with a great malty taste. The palate is very smooth.
