COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water, Styrian and Saaz Hops, 2-Row Barley and Caramel Malt, Yeast and Granulated Beet Sugar.
Matilda is made with a rare yeast that suggests a fruity and spicy flavor. There is complex maltiness balanced with a profuse amount of hops.

Semi-cloudy, with layers of yellow, orange and amber. I drink Orval reguraly, so I figured I’d give this a try. The aroma is yeasty and medicinal. First tastes are a fruity ester, slightly sour. The yeast seems reminesent of some Belgian trappist ales. I think the hops are distinctly different, if comparing to Orval. The flavor really is a combanation of a Honkers ale and a spicy trappist like Orval. Suprisingly complex and thouroly enjoyable.

Tangy spicey fruity aroma, amber tinted gold, tart sweet and tangy, with mouthpuckerying mouthfeel definitely an Orval want to be

On tap. Pours copper with a good sized frothy white head. Ginger, clove, and rootbeer candy all complimented by caramel/toffee malts and fruity esters. A solid Belgian from Goose.

Gold-amber beer, clear; amberish tinted small head. Brett nose, sourish, Orval-like with the near imperceptible Orval sourishness abnormally enlarged; very fruity, citrus, etc. Sweet taste, bit malty, little sourishness in the taste. Sweet dough - like taste, pinch of salt included. Dry, restrained hops, orange zeste. And, I think, fatty acids. Light to medium bodied, rather dry, but at the same time the fatty acids/ phenolic (?) feel. A good try - but no match for the original, not in a long time!

Bottle... Clear, golden ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Good retention. Yeasty, spicy aroma with notes of bread dough, orange peel and fuzzy fruit. The flavor is sweet, malty and lightly fruity. Medium-bodied with an astringent mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Finishes wheaty and dry. A bit Orvalesque, but pulls up way short of that lofty status. Not my thing, but a quality beer nonetheless.

Pours a medium dark amber. Aromas of orange, caramel, and some spice. Flavors are yeasty, orange, clove and other spice. Not a favorite style. But still a damn fine beer.

This beer has a healthy aroma that is an infusion of wheat, yeast, brown sugar, and banana. It is a golden orange colored solution with a good thick cream colored head. This rich moderately heavy beer flows through the mouth smoothly. This beer introduces itself to the palate with the taste of yeast. It finishes with a orange and wheat ensemble that fades leaving a nice healthy wheat taste lingering.

Hazy light tan. Nose fruity with orange and some spice, yeast, and vaguely moldy banana. Flavor is fruit, lots of apple and orange, bit tart, some yeasty chewiness, bunch of spice at the end.

This beer’s got some stank on it. Funky, cheesey, sweat socks. Yet spicey and lemony at the same time. Pours a nice amber color with tons of carbonation that forms a billowing creamy white head. The head leaves some great lacing. The flavor is that of an easy drinking beer. Nothing stands out, yet I can’t wait for another sip. Ahh there it is. As this treat warms you funk really cuts through. Refreshingly tart. Medium body, and a touch puckering. I really like this beer and hope I can always get it in this area.
