Looks picture perfect on the pour, amber colored, frothy white head. Aroma is fruity bananas maybe melons and yeast. Moderately sweet. Odd tasting finish, with a slight dryness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear gold in color with numerous bubbles breaking at the surface. Somewhat starchy aroma joined with cloves, anise and chamomile. Pepper and anise come out to play for the flavor portion, joining some rind, muted plantains, and an undecipherable yeasty muskiness. A decent beer, but quite a smorgasbord of elements in its present condition. Thanks for sharing this, JPDIPSO!

Pours a light brown color w/ a small bubbled white head and visable carbonation. Sweet malt and yeast aroma w/ a light buttered bread dough aroma. Palate is smooth and well coated but not overly thick. Flavor is very light buttered bread dough and yeast w/ a finish of a light carmel.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz. bottle served up, perhaps obviously, in an Orval chalice, and, to my surprise, this is one of the freshest bottled beers Iíve ever sampled with a bottling date of July 27 of this year (15 days ago). Unique and mellow aroma, spicy and fruity with undertones of white grape, cider, tangerine, pepper, leafy, herbal hops and very faint suggestions of candle wax, leather and old leaves. Impressive coppery golden color, mostly clear, with a mostly lasting, fine, uneven head and thin, delicate lacing. Flavor profile is mildly sweet to start, lightly doughy and malty, becoming more fruity and spicy before the dry, peppery, lightly bitter and dry finish. Rather mild in character, overall. Smoothly effervescent palate, mouthfeel is very lightly winey, body is medium. One can certainly note the presence of the Orval yeast strain here and it is not unwelcome.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2005 bottling I believe. Great looking beer. Clear, deep golden/copper, with a small frothy head. Plentiful carbonation. Fruity aroma, banana pudding/bread, as well as peach or melon (or something). There are also some candy like scents such as marshmallow or nugget or something in that vein. The flavor was very light and appealing. The fruit flavors reminded me of apple and banana skin, as well as the presence of spicy pepper and cardamom (maybe). Good. The body was lightly creamy with hints of bitter astringency. Good flavor combinations, not stereotypical of any Belgian Iíve had before. Happy to have it again.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled 27 July 05. Very dark, clear golden color with a hugh lasting Beige head with a heavy sheet of lace. Light malt and clean honey aromas, surrounded by a field of fresh cut clover. Hints of pineapple and a distinct belgian yeast profile. Reminds me of a fresh t IJ Jaars in aroma. Immediate reaction was that this is a saison triple, but there are many other things going on in this one. Light sweet malt hits the tongue, that is balanced quite well with a strong dry hops flavor. Very dry on the palate, with a a lot of carbonation that nearly bites. Fairly simple in flavor, but the yeast does show itself with a dose of mild spice in the linger along with the hops. I think this will do better with a touch of age on the bottle to meld things together. But quite drinkable now.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 18, 2006 At the brew pub. Cloudy light gold coloring. Medium sized white head. Aroma of sweet oranges and tangerines. Hints of clove and banana. This is almost like a sweeter wit in aroma. The taste is peaches and bananas. Finishes with orange peels and some bread crust. Full mouth feel. I tried this again in the bottle. It was definitely better on tap and the numbers reflect my tap rating. Tried this in the bottle again. The body was light cloudy orange. The aroma had mango, pineapple and orange rinds. The taste was light hay with apples and grass. This was crisp and clean.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught: This one pours a dark golden, somewhat hazy color. There ws also a hint of orange in there. A good off-white head. The nose is quite full, being bready, yeasty, spicy, and a hint of caramel and hops. The taste has wheat, corriander, breadyness, and some sweetness. Very Nice!

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy light orange/yellow color. Very faint aroma or citrus fruits, (either that, or my nose was not working that day). Not as fruity as a belgium, or as I expected.
