wyzzywyz22 (754), Wirral, Merseyside, England Nov 21, 2008 Bottle, The Offie, Leicester. Hazy orange colour with a steady thin off white head. Yeasty , fruity aroma. Pleasant mouthfeel. Some citrus hop in the flavour with a hint of spice. Definite orange notes. Plenty going on, and well crafted. A little on the sweet side but thoroughly enjoyable. taalhiker (179), Dayton, Ohio, USA Nov 20, 2008 From bottle. Part of November Dayton Beer Tasting event. Pours hazy orange/amber with small head. Aroma of yeast, oranges and spice. Flavors match the aroma with the addition of malt and dark fruit. Decent attempt at a Belgian. thebeertourist (2751), Oslo, Norway Nov 20, 2008 From bottle at Salone del Gusto 2008. Hazy orangey amber, small head. fruity aroma, lots of orange zest. Complex fruity flavours with oranges and yeast most noticeable. Well-carbonated. Advanced. jebert (110), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA Nov 20, 2008 Pours with a cloudy cooper hue with a small diminishing white head. Aroma is citrus and spice. Mouthfeel is very creamy and smooth. Taste is orange, colindar and nutmeg with a nice hops overtone to finish crisp and clean. Very refreshing. Great summer brew.Pairs well with barbequed chicken, fruits& nuts or as the label suggests mussels. Great imitation of an old Belgian ale. Honk for this one! nuplastikk (1159), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Nov 19, 2008 12oz bottle. Hazy bronze-amber color. Very pleasant Belgian yeast and hop aroma. Thick and full bodied mouthfeel. Malty and rich with a subtle solid hop bitterness in the finish. Very subtle and respectable beer. Reminds me of a Belgian Singel. Good stuff. tytoanderso (1382), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA Nov 17, 2008 12oz bottle. Bottled on 072705(3+ yrs old... sweet!) Definite tart pineapply brett on on the nose. Some spicy Belgian yeast. The hops are pretty much faded by now leaving an excellent pale malt base surrounded by tart, spicy and slightly funky yeast. Pours a hazed dark orange with a nice sized off white head leaving fairly sticky lacing down the sides of the glass. Head retention is excellent throughout the entire bottle. Flavor profile starts with a good dose of bready malt, a hint of grassy hops mid palate and a blast of tart and spicy yeast on the finish. Slightly earthy. Pineapple and mango (?). Agave nectar. Medium to full bodied with excellent carbonation. Finishes lengthy and dry. Quite a surprise. A very well balanced beer: malty, slightly hoppy, plenty yeasty with a pleasant alcohol character throughout. Nice. Thanks for the awesome vintage treat Joe!
daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Nov 15, 2008 Finally I get to try this...and it was worth the wait. MMMMMMM. Amber pour with a nice off white head that sticks around. Aroma is that of a great belgian. Yeast, toffee, fruit, and the flavor follows suit. Soft on the tongue, yeasty, sweet, malty and just delicious! malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Oct 31, 2008 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Orange amber with lasting head. Spicy caramel orange tobacco yeasty aroma. Sweet malty toasted caramel and ripe fruit with tobacco spicy bitterness. Nice soft medium-full mouthfeel and medium-low carbo. I’m not sure why I had low expectations for this. This is an excellent beer.
