All the requisite character is there: light sweetness, spicy aroma hops, lightly bitter hop finish, notes of dried fruit, etc. Sometimes Belgians give off a tartness that is not present in this brew. Very clean, and perhaps a good introduction to the Belgian style. Hides its potent alcohol content well. Nicely balanced, but not an outstanding entry. jake65 (1698), Williston, North Dakota, USA

Nose is mild of Belgian spices and fruitiness. I found this to be incredibly smooth with flavors of frutiness up front, a little yeast and spices with a little hops too. Thanks EithCubes! | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 22, 2007 Good enough belgian ale with a full malt backbone; however, this ale runs a bit sticky sweet on the tongue which overwhelms any flavor lying underneath. In all, a good beer, if a bit one-sided. rowefam3 (70), kendallville, Indiana, USA

They actually had this on tap at PIER 32 in Hamilton Indiana. I’ll be back!!! ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA

On tap @ the fest. Nose of dried fruit, wheat & alcohol, smoke & vanilla. The beer is sparkling copper. The fully lasting off-white head leaves good lace. The brew is spicy & peppery with high acidity and a brief finish. The full creamy body is lively, the finish feels dry. Brewosk (137), Illinois, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 18, 2007 Pours a golden orange color with a lacy white head. Aroma is floral hops with yeast and citrus characteristics as well. Candy sugar somewhat detectable. Taste is citrus up front, but the yeast, sugar, and fruit characteristics come shining through in the end. This is a very subtly complex beer and a wonderful offering from Goose Island. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 16, 2007 2006 Bottle. Yeasty nose with orange and citric zest, touch of candy sugar and lots of wet fruit. Really an incorrigible gusher, caught all of this one, though. Hazy-opaque goldenish orange with a strong carbonation tornado in the middle and a huge, yeast-driven, lacing, rocky, spoonable beige head. Taste a nice balance of acidity, bitterness, and light sweetness, malt and fruit with yeast. Crisp medium+ body, prickling but very soft. Aftertaste is yeasty and very dry, faint perfume notes linger on. Orvallish but not quite on the same level; still an excellent go.
