Quevillon (1519), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada May 31, 2007 Bu au Mondial 07. Dorée foncée, moyen collet beige. Arome d’herbe malté un peu de fruit sec. Bon goût de malte sucré et d’épice doux, des notes de petits fruits. Bref, une version fruité d’Orval. presario (2955), Calgary, Alberta, Canada May 29, 2007 Chicago trip. Monday 14:17. Bottle at Clybourn. Kind of looking forward to this since seeing it in the past couple of BA mags. Hazy dark orange. Belgian triple and candy sugar aroma. Foamy Belgian beer like baking soda with sweet malt. Peppery Orval clone but sweeter. Don’t serve too cold as they did here. Sweet and not as funky as Orval. Optigon (561), Bloomington, Indiana, USA May 23, 2007 Light aroma of yeast and fruit. Pours orange with a moderate head. Very striking pour. Solid mouth feel with flavors of caramel, spices, and orange. Very good beer! chef201atc (249), Weatherford, Texas, USA May 17, 2007 Clear amber with a small white head. Aroma is a bit funky, spicy, and peppery. Palate is light with active carbonation. Flavor is a bit tart with some floral notes. RollinHard (750), Fort Worth, Texas, USA May 16, 2007 Poured a dirty orangey gold. aroma is slightly sour, with some pears, and just some old musty earthiness. Flavor is surprisingly bitter and peppery with some sweet fruit, spices, and an overall dustiness. Finishes a little sour (not in a lambic way) with a lingering lightly sweet flavor. Nice well rounded beer. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA May 15, 2007 2006 12 oz. bottle via trade with OhioDad - Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a one finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Aroma is spicey esters. Flavor is slightly tart esters with a nice spiciness. Light to medium body. No lingering aftertaste. This beer was a pleasant suprise. Very nice. Thanks Scott. masonjer (562), Holt, Michigan, USA May 14, 2007 Poured a golden color. Taste was lightly sweet, some hops, some spice. A very drinkable beer, but nothing incredible for a belgian. Quite a light beer overall. Naven (864), Poway, California, USA May 7, 2007 12 oz bottle. Acquired in a trade with someone who I cannot remember. Thank you though. Golden color, yeasty, fruity aroma. Flavor is nice. Somewhat light - almost Saison-esque. I picked up a faint hint of bretts, which was well hidden and actually added to the flavor. Pretty nice beer.
