Dark blond body topped with a thick bubbly/frothy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma and taste. Grainy, spicy and yeasty notes. Ends with a decently warming finish. Very nice! redlight (1510), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 23, 2007 Light and fruity aroma, white grapes, starfruit, with hints of caramel and brown sugar. Pours very light amber. Light but finishes with a rich malt flavor, caramelly, brown sugar, fruity, light citrus, spicy. Very easy to drink, great beer! dmac (1510), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 3, 2008 12 oz bottle from xmarcnolanx, thanks Marc. Pours a hazy orange with an average to small, small for a Belgian anyway, lacey white head. Aroma of candied sugar, tropical fruit, biscuit, green bananas and yeast. Medium bodied with creamy smooth carbonation and a quick disipating aftertaste. Flavor starts off with lots of biscuit, sugar and tropical fruit, finishes with a yeast kick. Really drinkable and nice, never knew anyone named Matilda though. Strykzone (1505), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 17, 2007 Pours with an explosive foam. Head is light orange and takes a while to dissipate. Aroma is busy. Floral notes, tart hops, spice, and some stale milk. First taste tells me that this is one of those beers that have a lot going on. Lots of malt grabbed me at first but hop notes and then dark fruit popped up. That was all in the first sip. Next sip was bubblegum followed by cigar. How does it do that? This is a wonderful beer and is a delight to sample. jkwalking05 (1501), Arlington, Texas, USA

Caught me by surprise when the suds pushed out after uncapping. Fuzzy brown orange with a dense ivory head. Banana caramel; like a tripel in nose. Fizzy apricot and apple juice. Dries with sourdough bread and allspice. holdenn (1454), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2007 Sampled on cask at NotLA. This special version was dry hopped with Simcoe hops. Very yeasty nose, citrus, spice, red apples, and pepper. Lots of red apple in the flavor, sour spice, yeast and more fruit. The simcoe hops and yeast did it well, smooth, subtle, and tasty. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 30, 2003 Billed as a Belgian Golden Ale, I found this to be quite enjoyable. The aroma contained a nice balance of dry grain malt and hop bitterness. The flavor was slightly sweet with apple, white grape, maybe a touch of sugar, and then a nice bitter hop balance in the finish. This is probably better than the 1800 Demolition and well worth trying.
