Matilda is made with a rare yeast that suggests a fruity and spicy flavor. There is complex maltiness balanced with a profuse amount of hops.

765ml bottle. Vintage 2015. Pours a hazy orange with a large, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Spicy aroma of coriander, clove, yeast, caramel malt, fruit and a light brettish note. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, peach, orange, apricot and yeast with a spicy, dry, mildly bitter finish. Medium body with a creamy, oily texture and soft carbonation. A fairly complex brew. Nice.

Rating #1327 15.11.2014 Bottle from labatt guy. mild haziness, golden pour, quite bubbly. aroma is mild funk, mild dish soap. Palate is all over the map, just a burnt funkiness that is unpleasant. No idea why this would be fussed over.

Pours a finger of head on a hazy straw body. The aroma is hay fields, dry grains and lemon zest. The taste is clean to start, then mild fruit sweet to almost candy sweet, finishes with a mild bitter and spice. The texture is crisp and fizzy. A fairly mild, but flavorful beer.

I love a good bathtub beer. Something cool and refreshing always goes nicely with steaming water and soft bubbles tickling your skin. Matilda was the choice for the evening because of the style, as Iím just in the mood for some delightful funk. Hereís to hoping! - I love the delicate aroma from the neck; and pouring the beer into the tulip glass stirs a delightful combination of clove and fruit, with an earthy foundation that mellows the spice. The beer is golden amber with a minimal white head, frothy and penetrable. It clings heavy and wet to the tilted glass, and I draw a mouthful of the light-bodied brew, feeling the foam cling to my lip as I pull at the beer. The initial taste is an earthy barnyard character, a hint of banana and sweet dough thatís summed up in a dry swallow. Thereís a light hops bite on my gums and the tender skin on the inside of my lips, but the dry finish eases that sting quickly. The same dryness allows the funky barnyard and nutty clove to cling to my mouth for an interminable amount of time! The yeast seems to want nothing more than to torment me; to drive me to another quaff to ease the funk and to refresh the flavors that are so complex when I exhale after the swallow. Breathe out...experience so much more. - A damn fine girl, this Matilda. Iíd take her home anytime.
