3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 VillageBeerVin (17) - Buffalo, New York, USA - OCT 23, 200912 oz bottle from Village Beer Merchant (Buffalo, NY). Deep amber pour with small fading head. Slightly funky fermented orchard fruit/apple and yeasty spice aroma. Flavor was sweet and fruity...again like orchard fruits such as apple and pear. Funky spiciness from the yeast. Overall, seems a pretty entry-level belgian amber with a bit of yeast funk. Decent brew. Glad to see it back in the area.

Glowing amber color. Fruity smell, Smooth with a spicy, yeast fruit finish that pulls dry right at the end. It takes your palate and your taste buds through two different journeys and then has them meet up right at the end. Great.

Sweet and malty saison with lots of sugary notes but a nice fruity complexity to the finish. Not a saison as I had expected but still nice.

Honestly, I had high hopes when I read the word "brettanomyces" on the label.
Pours a hazy golden color with a generous white head. Aromas of lemon, banana flavored baby food and some tranny fluid (not the automotive type). Taste is slightly sweet with just a hint of sour. Pretty refreshing, but not as good as you jokers make it out to be.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Berxerxes (10) - - JUN 9, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber. Weak white head with minimal retention and lacing. Smells of malt, yeast, fig, apricot, banana, weak caramel. Tastes of malt, fig and banana upfront, caramel finish, slight bitter. Very unique. Medium carbonation and silky finish. Very interesting brew. Need to try on tap.

2013/06/09 - Pours a hazy, dark orange copper color with a thin, soapy, white head. Aroma is biscuit, pears, hay and barnyard. Taste is a pleasant mix of sweet pears, apples, spices and barnyard funk. Mouthfeel is medium with medium to high carbonation.
