(on bottle) Mellow fruity(abricot and pear) aroma. Soft carbonation. Steady, going more harsh and tight in the hopping, as one sips on. Firm hopped, to the sweet side.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
One of Goose Island’s bonus beers at the CBS Brewpub Shootout in Chicago. Poured a hazed, orangy amber, with modest, off white foam to the head, and ribbons and spots of clingy lacing. The nose was mainly citrus, with light resin, and some fruit and malt sweetness. Smooth malt, and a nice, supportive hop bitterness followed the former notes into the flavor. Along with a medium body, the finish was lightly dry. A very decent, sessionable IPA.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pale golden pour with a sticky white head. The nose is awesome… lots of rich pine and even more mango and pineapple over a light lemony citrus. There is also a bit of floral sweetness and a zesty fruitiness. Moderate palate with lots of juicy hop flavour over a moderately bitter finish. The malts stay with you all the way through to the finish, just serving as a counterpoint to the rich hoppiness. Light pine resinousness on the back. They should bottle this, because they’ve hit on a winner.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at GI Clybourn served in an English pint glass. Hazy, golden/orange pour with a thin head of off-white foam that quickly faded away. Decent lacing. The aroma favored grapefruit with a touch of pale malt. The flavor was fairly hoppy, but not overly bitter. Crisp citrus and grapefruit with minimal malt sweetness. Medium-bodied with light carbonation. An easy drinking IPA. Not in your face or aggressive. Decent.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge, frothy, white head, lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma is average malt (husky grain), average hop (grass, grapefruit, pine), light yeast (earth) with notes of dust, pineapple, and peach skin. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter-dry finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

tap at GI. Mostly orange pour wtih a smallish white head. Hops galore! The citrus jumps out...good grapefruit and a rich malt aroma that is accented by the wood chips I am sure. Flavor is really nice. The hops jump out but they don’t overpower. Good combo of citrus, floral and malt. Good stuff.

On tap Firkin Fest 09. Deep orange color, minimal foamy head. Flavor is Cascade hops. Mmm Cascade hops. (Later note: not sure how I knew it had Cascade hops?) Mild malt profile, dry finish. Good session beer.
