COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Pub brewed India Pale Ale that yields a higher gravity and slightly deeper hue than our perennial IPA, making it "mid way" between the IPA and Imperial IPA. Generous amounts of Amarillo hops were used and aged with oak and apple wood chips for distinctive character. Dispensed with Nitrogen and "slow poured" for a silky mouthfeel.

Draft @ Goose Island Clybourn, Chicago, IL. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy piney citrus aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter grapefruit and citrus flavor with some piney hints. Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter finish.

Draught at the brewpub, Wrigleyville location
Dark amber color; unfortunately served in a plastic cup because of the game. Some malt and hop aroma. Solid brew, with a powerful malt and caramel flavor, but not too sweet, and a strong bitterness, with a lot of hop oils; the final indeed is amost harsh! Good and bold.

(Draught) Pours a lightly cloudy orange body with a small white head. Aroma of florals, caramel, and pine. Nice balance of malt and hops flavor.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge, frothy, white head, lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma is average malt (husky grain), average hop (grass, grapefruit, pine), light yeast (earth) with notes of dust, pineapple, and peach skin. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter-dry finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

tap at GI. Mostly orange pour wtih a smallish white head. Hops galore! The citrus jumps out...good grapefruit and a rich malt aroma that is accented by the wood chips I am sure. Flavor is really nice. The hops jump out but they don’t overpower. Good combo of citrus, floral and malt. Good stuff.

Pale golden pour with a sticky white head. The nose is awesome… lots of rich pine and even more mango and pineapple over a light lemony citrus. There is also a bit of floral sweetness and a zesty fruitiness. Moderate palate with lots of juicy hop flavour over a moderately bitter finish. The malts stay with you all the way through to the finish, just serving as a counterpoint to the rich hoppiness. Light pine resinousness on the back. They should bottle this, because they’ve hit on a winner.

Sample from cask at the Clybourn brewpub. The beer is a clear pale golden-amber color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet fruits and bready malt.. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, tropical fruit and malt. The finish is fruity with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Growler. Poured clear medium golden with a moderate cap of white head and some splotchy lacing... lots of rising carbonation. Dried floral and pine aroma with some toffee sweetness beneath. Flavor had a tangy pine bitterness throughout and a solid sweet base... little soapy feel when the finish came around... oak nicely laced in there. Higher level of bitterness the whole way. Solid brew.

Cask at the Clyborn. Pours a clear amber with a cascading creamy brown head that dissipates completely. Aroma has citrus and grapefruit with a nice smooth grain backing. Flavor has more of an earthy citrus note with a strong underlying bread note.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours light copper with a decent beige head and a piny aroma. There is a tasty caramel malt flavor with a bitter hoppy finish. Well-balanced.
