Toffee brown, medium-bodied, with a creamy head and an aroma of raisins and freshly baked dark bread. Mild Winter’s rich caramel malt and spicy rye flavors are sure to take the bite out of whatever Old Man Winter brews up for you this year.

bottle. Deep amber with small head. Medium caramel malt. Mild rye and light bitterness. Slight spice. Decent, but unexceptional.

On tap at Manito Tap House, Spokaloo, WA Pours a brown ale with some red accents. Occassional foam as I agitate is light tan. Nose is spicy and malty. There are hints of cinnamon and some earthy hops, but mostly a simple bready nose. Taste carries a nice brown ale character accented with a rye ambience. Nicely spicy with a tone of brown ale - not mild ale. Medium bodied with a lighter carb and a nice forgettable finish. This beer is nothing out of the ordinary - which is exactly as it should be. Well executed. Serving type: on-tap 12-20-2012

I had this at Global Brew. Pours amber with a off white head. Taste burnt malt, Carmel. I thought this was so so. I would skip this down the road. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours amber with a nice head that gives way to solid lacing. Aroma is similar to flavor - a very good toffee flavor with only a hint of bitterness. I just wish this mild ale was classified correctly so I could get credit on ratebeer.

pours a medium brown with a good tan head. This beer is sweet and full of malts, there is a light bitter rye flavor. There is a nice caramel flavor also.

Bottle. This is not a beer I really got into. I am not a huge fan of rye brews though so give it a go.

Decent beer but I don't like the style. Had on tap in KC. Originally rated with another app.

THOUGHTS: Tons of flavor. Very nice. A bit British. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, dark reddish amber that was nearly brown in the glass (sort of like cola) with a huge, off-white head that diminished very slowly leaving excellent lacing. The aroma had moderate roasted, burnt, nutty and caramel malts; light chocolate; light hops; cola; and dark fruit. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and slightly bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet and lightly bitter. There was roasted malt, burnt malt, dark fruit, herbal hops, hints of chocolate, fruity yeast, dark bread, caramel malt and cola. The medium body was sort of dry with fizzy carbonation and a slightly astringent finish.

Dark amber/brown color; Medium creamy body; Aroma of caramel malt, dark fruit, & some floral hops; Flavor of slight sweet malt, caramel, some rye, dark fruit, and light hops; Overall, a little too mellow - but not bad.
