COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Toffee brown, medium-bodied, with a creamy head and an aroma of raisins and freshly baked dark bread. Mild Winter’s rich caramel malt and spicy rye flavors are sure to take the bite out of whatever Old Man Winter brews up for you this year.

Great beer. Reminds me of drinking coffee because the tones of caramel malts are so strong. Super seasonal beer!

120 ox bottle pours a clear reddish brown with a large beige head that sticks around, with lots of lacing afterwards. Aroma has caramel, grains, bread, and a hint of chocolate. Taste is sweet with the hops kicking in at the end for a more bitter finish. Medium body has just enough carbonation. A good winter ale, and one of Goose Island’s better offerings.

Dark brown colour with beige head. Malty, a bit fruity. Hint of raisin. Malty flavor with hint of milk and chocolate. Medium body, little sweetness. Enjoyable!

Deep ruby red pour with a small white head and lacing. Very aromatic. Hops, dark fruit, caramel, grass, whisky, bread. Quite bitter from the hops and sweet from the caramel and dark fruit, raisin. There is a very slight warmth from the liquor. The flavours are more subdued but all are there. Slight spice, tea and pepper. All in all an enjoyable brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dirty amber/gold with off-white head leaving a lot of striped laces... aroma is off bread heel and spices...spicy aftertastes...as it warms it becomes more fruity and sweet. kind of tea-looking and tea-tasting....really not bad at all. mild and tasty.

Really unpleasant savour smell gives way to a nice and quite subdued malt flavour. Not going to be a regular.

Clear dark brown color, tan head. Sweet, malty scent, some roasted notes. Sweet, roasted, cream, minty fresh taste. Moussy mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
I’d drink it again, it is very nice!

Dark brown with a minor beige head (that persists for a while). Smokey, roasted malt nose...maybe a little fresh baked bread, but all scents are far from overpowering. Smooth and creamy start before carbonation takes over. Disappointingly, not as much flavor as I expected. Slightly bitter roasted grain taste which slowly fades.
