COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Toffee brown, medium-bodied, with a creamy head and an aroma of raisins and freshly baked dark bread. Mild Winter’s rich caramel malt and spicy rye flavors are sure to take the bite out of whatever Old Man Winter brews up for you this year.

355ml bottle. Pours a dark orange brown with a large head. Aroma is smoked bacon, leather and a little spicy. Taste has a spicy leather start, with some mild smoked bacon on the finish.

Draft. Creay head that had nice retention, off white/tan. Nice rasion aroma with a slight malt backing. Very soft medium body beer. Malt forward, slight malt sweetness with a hint of caramel. Excellent beer. Nice mild winter seasonal.

Clear dark amber pour with long-lasting bubbly white head. Malty aroma of biscuit with some toffee and fruit notes. Taste is in line with the aroma, some caramel and fruit with a mild rye spice on the finish. Pretty straightforward malty winter ale, but the rye notes add a little interest. Enjoyable, but nothing special.

This beer was horrible. I bought a 6 pack ~ $11.00. I tasted the beer and instantly I was repulsed. The taste reminded me of coffee that was burned from sitting on the heat too long with a twist of black licorice & pine. I would also suggest that you do not drink it while serving pizza. It did not go well at all. I would never buy this again and I am going to try give these away to my friends that drink Busch. I think they would appreciate it’s rotten flavor because of the pricetag.

Caramel, brown sugar and toffee tastes, with hints of dark fruit. This is a nice winter warmer beer.

Tap pours auburn with dense head. Moderate aroma of light roasted grains. The taste is simple but it works, somewhere between a mild and a brown. Just enough rye to give it some depth, but overall a simple taste.

12-oz bottle from 6-pk at Erica’s. Pours very dark brown with a frothy off-white head that has very few bubbles and retains pretty well. Leaves a pretty heavy lacing that includes watermarks at each level on the way down so the glass ends up looking like the cross-section of a sedimentary rock formation in an 8th grade science textbook. Aroma is of malts, some spice, vanilla, and a little booze. Palate is more of the same but with no detectable booze and some bread, as well as dry red fruit lurking. Vanilla bean is just present enough. Pretty viscous/oily mouthfeel ... Just complex and heavy enough to be a good winter warmer.

poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours a dark brown color with a 1" head very grain driven nose. Crackers and rye grains along with roasted malts, chocolate and some toffee as well medium bodied, but lacking a bit in the flavor department. Mostly roasted malts, some coffee and grains. Very good smooth feel though. It doesn’t drop off at any point A very good and drinkable beer. Tasty, but seems to lack a slight bit for me

(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm, 13 Dec 2011) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dark bread, dark fruit, prunes, raisins and slightly spicy yeast aromas. Malty, fruity taste with notes of chocolate, caramel, dark fruit and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, slightly sweetish. Quite enjoyable.

12/31/11 12oz bottle. Certainly is mild, caramel presence up front, with a mild finish. Nice aroma, medium bodied. Overall a nice beer, but not one i’d go out of my way to drink again.
