3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pour was medium to light brown with a light tan head. Aroma was of light spice, a hint of cloves, and medium malt. Another medium malt flavor with light spice and a light hop finish. Good brew. Not a mild, though.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
crystal clear copper body with a great lasting off white head that leaves beautiful lacing. Solid toffee aroma with a hint of vanilla and just a bit of orange brightness. Bittersweet caramel vanilla raisin flavor with some spicy pine and a hint of orange. long balanced bittersweet toffee/caramel raisin orange finish lingering dry spicy pine and tart raisin. light to medium body. at first seems like an fairly uninteresting session beer but when you really give it some thought it becomes quite complex.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 8, 2010 Much better the second time. Lots of malt on this beer with a grain sweetness. Very low carbonation, smooth, thick palate. No hop presence really, and that is OK.
Mild malt, some grain. Medium palate and dark brown, very little carbonation. Kind of soapy. 332/5/2/12

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 12oz bottle (Bottled on 11/11/08) and served in a pint glass. This beer poured a lightly hazy copper brown hue with a quickly fading head of tan foam that settled into a lasting ring. Decent lacing. The aroma was made up of sharp rye, caramel, a bit of chocolate, a hint of dark fruit skins, and very mild noble hops. The flavor consisted of spicy rye, rich caramel, toasted nuts and grain, and a very mild, earthy hop note. Rich and malty. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied and had crisp, moderate carbonation. A nicely made winter session ale. I’ve already gone through a couple sixes this winter.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle shared by shigadeyo. Pours brown with reddish highlights and a small off white head. The aroma has light spices and mild hoppiness over top of a caramel malt base/ The flavor is a combination of caramel, rye, mild spices, and a general fruitiness. The finish is slightly dry and biscuity. A decent brew, not one of there best.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap. Pours dark brown with moderate off-white head. Aroma is mostly caramel malt with some bread. Flavor is similar with quite a bit of maltiness rather than yeast. Unfortunately this was probably served too cold to get the full flavor. Nevertheless, a good beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark, clear reddish-brown body. One finger of off-white head, quickly diminishing. Aroma of caramel, rye and spice (ginger and a hint of cinammon), nuts and toast. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. The finish is lightly to moderately bitter and lightly to moderately sweet. Aftertaste of rye and tea with a touch of caramel. Medium body with a slightly syrupy texture. Lively carbonation. OK, though the sweetness rather than the rye jumps out front. One was enough.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a medium sized off white head that is like large bubbly fish eggs. Nose is sour yeasty rye bread, and some caramel malt. Taste is about the same with a bit of a spicey back end. Not bad but not really my thing.
