Almost two fingers of lightly tanned head. Clear, but not transparent, brown colored body.
Smell is roasted malt, chocolate and caramel. Really nice.
The taste is bitter beginning, roasted malt sweetness, solid chocolate ending.
Texture tends towards silky, low carbonation and medium body.
A good winter drinker.

Dark pour with tan white clingy head. Malty aroma, oatmeal, grain, light caramel and bready. A bit watery not thick. Beer tastes better when warmer.

On tap at the brewhouse during St Patty’s festivities -- I like this as a brown, was "meh" about it as an ESB. Go Browns.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep copper/mahogany color with a big white head. The big bubbles entrapped within the head pop over time to leave a wonderful level of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is a blend of a bready, roasted, and yeasty smells. Mixed with these aromas are a very light spice and nutty aroma as well.
Taste – The taste begins of a bready and slightly caramel and brown sugar sweetened flavor. As the taste advances some roasted and spice flavors then come to the taste. The sweeter flavors lose a big of their ground more toward the end as some hop flavors begin coming to the tongue. With the hop flavors, which are mainly earthy in nature, comes some spice flavors as well which in the end leave a nice roasty flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average as well.
Overall- A fairly decent winter ale as it’s not too heavy and yet maintains a nice flavor profile.

Pours a clear amber body with white head. Lots of caramel malt on this, along with plenty of spice on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with rye spice. A good winter ale.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rated on 1-29-2011 at Brewers of Indiana Guild Winterfest (Indianapolis, IN). This beer has a small smooth ivory head that mostly diminishes, amber transparent body, very little carbonation noted, and a generous amount of lacing. The aroma is caramel malt, bread, light toffee, and semi-sweet. The taste is semi-sweet, caramel malt, bready, and lightly spicy. This beer has a lively mouth feel and this is a medium bodied beer. Overall, this is an easy drinking beer and not overly spicy tasting. It is worth trying and is a beer I would drink again.

bottle. Deep amber with small head. Medium caramel malt. Mild rye and light bitterness. Slight spice. Decent, but unexceptional.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Manito Tap House, Spokaloo, WA
Pours a brown ale with some red accents. Occassional foam as I agitate is light tan. Nose is spicy and malty. There are hints of cinnamon and some earthy hops, but mostly a simple bready nose. Taste carries a nice brown ale character accented with a rye ambience. Nicely spicy with a tone of brown ale - not mild ale. Medium bodied with a lighter carb and a nice forgettable finish. This beer is nothing out of the ordinary - which is exactly as it should be. Well executed.
Serving type: on-tap

I had this at Global Brew. Pours amber with a off white head. Taste burnt malt, Carmel. I thought this was so so. I would skip this down the road.
