COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Toffee brown, medium-bodied, with a creamy head and an aroma of raisins and freshly baked dark bread. Mild Winter’s rich caramel malt and spicy rye flavors are sure to take the bite out of whatever Old Man Winter brews up for you this year.

This brew pours a clear dark amber color with a medium fluffy off-white head that diminishes slowly. Small patches and strings of lacing. Aroma of malt and barley plus a little rye. Light body with flavors of bready malt, hops and rye. The finish has a doughy malt flavor and a mild hops aftertaste that does not linger long. Slightly above average overall.

A rye not a mild, recent bottle. Refreshin with that rye edge. Moderately pleasant aroma, arising from a medium yellow body topped by good amount of bubbled head. Lace follows through. Very drinkable, refreshing. Warms the body on a cold night.Average mouthfeel, a little edgy but smooth.Drying aftertaste.

Bottle. Clear reddish brown color with a big beige head. Malty aroma with rye, caramel, biscuits, toasted bread, some graininess and light fruity notes.. Sweet malty flavor, caramelly and toasty, with rye spiciness, a faint fruity hint and a somewhat bitter finish with some minerally/earthy/metallic notes. Medium-bodied. Not my thing.

Bottle @ home. Pours a dark orange/brown appearance with a nice brown head and good lacing. Fairly spicy rye, caramel, light chocolate, toffee, a bit herbal aroma. Kind of chewy rye malty, bready, moderately spicy, allspice, caramel flavor. Not bad.

Botella @ Ølbaren. Clear deep amber bhrown colour, medium fairly well lasting head. Rye and caramel bit grainy aroma. Ok mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with caramel, rye, toasty malt, some bitter hops and some dark bread too.

It’s hazy, dark, red amber with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt and light fruit – soft and mild. The flavor has a moderate sweetness and notes of malt, light spice and light fruit. It’s mild and easy to drink.

Bottle. Bready malt and dried fruit aroma. Amber color with minimal head. Slightly sweet dried fruit initially followed by a moderately strong rye bread malt flavor. Nicely blended. Love the rye flavor that comes out in this - a great beer.

12oz bottle, bottled 11/16/2011. Clear brown color, light tan head leaving some lace. An interesting aroma. Very roasty, like dried herbs. My mom sampled some and said tea leaves or tobacco, I can see that. Nice sweet malty caramel / maple syrup / sweet tea taste. Pretty decent and drinkable winter ale. Interesting roasty taste. Some chocolate aroma. Decent (lighter) dark / ripe fruit aftertaste.

Sampled at the 2010 Indiana Winterfest. Poured an amber brown with an off-white head. Strong malt note with notes of bread and a bit of mustiness. Flavor was similar with strong one note malt and an even stronger mustiness to it.
