4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a reddish-cooper color with huge foaming head mostly lasting, leaving some beautiful lacing on the glass. Nose is barley and malt with a suggestion of carmel. Mouthfeel is very creamy and soft. Full flavored with tastes of barley, malt and carmel. Finishes on a hoppy note but not bitter. A well crafted beer that can stand up to a winter feast of roast beef, potatoes and carrots.

12 oz bottle. Thanks William. First rating in a while, glad the siteís back up! As for the beer...Not sure what to make of this one. Aroma and color is close to a Brown Ale, with just a small off-white head of foam. Mouthfeel is very smooth- pleasant. But- very sweet upfront, and then turns a bit sour & spicy towards the middle and finish, and then the sweetness kicks back in big-time and lasts and lasts and lasts. Hate to say this isnít a favorite of mine. Reminds me a bit of my homebrew right at the time Iím bottling it- very sweet, not much alcohol, and altogether unfinished.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep mahogany with lots of toffee and caramel on the nose. Also a bit of roasted delicious malts. The taste is sweet and spicy with notes of rye as well. Finishes a bit bittersweet like fine dark chocolate. A very enjoyable beer

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
crystal clear copper body with a great lasting off white head that leaves beautiful lacing. Solid toffee aroma with a hint of vanilla and just a bit of orange brightness. Bittersweet caramel vanilla raisin flavor with some spicy pine and a hint of orange. long balanced bittersweet toffee/caramel raisin orange finish lingering dry spicy pine and tart raisin. light to medium body. at first seems like an fairly uninteresting session beer but when you really give it some thought it becomes quite complex.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle thanks to Brother Eric. Pours transparent dark copper/brown with thin foamy white head. Nose is rich cedar and roasted rye malt. Flavor is cheap mild hops and some light malts, lacking in the rye department for taste. Not the best íwinterí beer Iíve had.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz brown bottle served in a shaker pint. Poured a pale brown/amber with a finger of off white head. Aroma of cocoa and a bit of hops. Fairly malty with some chocolate malt. Spritzy mouthfeel, plenty of carbonation. A fresh hop flavor. I did not realize the rye aspect of the beer as I was drinking, maybe I should read the bottle. What I took for hops, may have been the rye. Definitely drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice amber body with a thick tan head that results in decent lacing. The aroma is light, but I can note some caramel, malt, and just a whiff of grassy hops. The palate is a bit complex with both creamy and bright being good adjectives. The flavor is quite good. The malty sweetness introduces itself with caramel and biscuit evident. The rye and hops finish the beer off with a good bite. A very flavorful and extremely drinkable brew.
