COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Toffee brown, medium-bodied, with a creamy head and an aroma of raisins and freshly baked dark bread. Mild Winter’s rich caramel malt and spicy rye flavors are sure to take the bite out of whatever Old Man Winter brews up for you this year.

Mediocre toffee colored pour. Tastes like it looks, which is simple and forgettable.

Poured a dark copper color with a small head. I can smell the rye but cannot taste it. Taste is a bit tart and a little dry. I even get the slightest hint of tobacco in the flavor. While this isn’t mind blowing it is very decent and differnt from what I would have thought a "winter" would be.

Deep ruby red pour with a small white head and lacing. Very aromatic. Hops, dark fruit, caramel, grass, whisky, bread. Quite bitter from the hops and sweet from the caramel and dark fruit, raisin. There is a very slight warmth from the liquor. The flavours are more subdued but all are there. Slight spice, tea and pepper. All in all an enjoyable brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Clear, light brown pour with a thin tan head. Caramel, cocoa and nutty aroma. Nutty flavor with rye to give it some bite. Tones of roasted malt, coffee and wood are also present. Dry texture with average carbonation. Not bad, but I was hoping for more unique flavors that are present in other Winter seasonal beers.

Bottle in chicago. Great color and great winter style. Smooth and quite an impressive beer. Goose island did a great job once again.

Pours a darker dull brown amber with a thin bubbly white sudsy head. Smells like an ESB, wet grains, spicy toasted malts, caramel, light floral hop bite. This stuff is very mellow, a rye ESB, softly spicy, softly malty, softly bitter, slightly chewy and bready, light floral hops. Medium/light bodied with sharp carbonation.A really nice balance for very drinkable beer. I really need to find more of this...can’t seem to find this in this area very easy.

Pours black with a white head. Fruity aroma, some raisin and caramel notes, however somewhat bland as this brew lacks depth.

Pours a dark cooper/brown with a ivory head. Nice lacing. Subtle aroma with chocolate, toffee, and fruity notes. Spicy fruit, vanilla, toffee, caramel, and bread flavors. Thin with a watery mouthfeel.

Brown with white head. Light grainy rye and toffee aroma. Similar taste with a bit of a sour mash rye finish. This beer is medium body dark full of flavor and low alcohol, I want more.
