Served in a snifter, black with purple/red hue. Very bubbly, cream colored cola-like head. Fairly void of scent. Average mouth feel, medium carbonation. Lactose sour flavor but really really faint and creamy. Not watery but a very very light flavor. A resemblance of a brown ale is there, roasted carmel but definite dairy taste blended in. Finish is warm feeling but not much flavor. Good beer but nothing outstanding.

Draft at Craft. Pours turbid deep brown with tan head. Nose is caramel malt, brown sugar, hops, cacao, mild nuts. Tastes of earthy brown sugar, caramel malt, mild cacao, and ample hops. Well balanced and a top nothc example of the style that may as well be called the Rodney Dangerfield of beer styles.

Draft at craft ale house. Pours dark brown with a large tan head. The aroma has a sweet brown sugar, chocolate, light hoppy note. The taste has a nice mix of milk chocolate and a bittering hop finish. Solidm

On tap. Pours a brown cola color with a tan head. Aroma is much more roast than I expected along with chocolate and some hops. A little bit of butter. Taste is roasty with some hops. Medium, creamy body.

Tap @ Swift w James Streets and E. Dark brown with smooth almond head. Nutty chalky taste but not too harsh or uneven. Good solid silky brown.

Draft at Swift with streets, Brendan and Erica. Pours a deep, deep brown with thin chocolate brown lacing. Aroma is light coffee roast and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of sweet malts - wow pretty plain. Somewhat disappointing, but not bad.

Draft at Bigelos. A black beer with beige foam. This was interesting. It was kind of soggy funky in front. Chocolate, roast, and citrus hops mixed with the soggy notes. This is definitely not an American brown. I liked it.

Pours a clear brown in to a no nic glass with nice head and decent lacing. Smells like a typical brown ale but had taste of a porter with roasted flavor. Medium carbonation with full mouthfeel. Fairly easy to drink and not too bad.

On draught
Pours a very pretty dark reddish brown color with a mall tight head and good lacing on the glass.
The aroma is nutty and lightly roasty with some mild chocolate. It’s a pretty mild aroma all together.
The flavor is nutty with some mild coffee.... what I mean by that I suppose is like good coffee grounds, that you attempted to do a second press on in a French press. Like it’s not a rich coffee flavor, but it’s nice too.... kinda weird... whatever. There is some light vanilla, and the beer is not particularly sweet, but not especially dry either.

It poured a brown color with a small off-white head. The aroma was of chocolate, caramel and some vanilla. The taste was of caramel malt, chocolate, light roastiness, some florals and brown sugar. Very tasty.
