Night Stalker, as an homage to the Chicago-based television show. Night Stalker is a jet black, dry hopped Imperial Stout, extremely rich and full flavored with malt and chocolate followed by a bright dry hopped aroma. It is the same base as our Bourbon County Stout, but instead of aging in Bourbon barrels, we dry hop it like madmen. ABV – 11.7% IBU’s – 60 Color – 100 Aroma Hops –Mt. End of evening truncated tasting notes! Rich dark malt that is slightly fruity and a little brandyish. Must try some more of this!

Bottle in the Rake, can’t remember whom bought this but Cheers! Opaque dark brown beer, nice frothy brown head. Lovely nose of fruit, marmite and hops. Soft silky palate, a little carbonation. Rich dark malt, coffee, spirits, a whisper of red fruits. Subtle dark chocolate and a little yeast.

Bottle, 11.7%. Weak roasted aroma, a little vinous with teaish hops. Black colour. Small dark brown head. The flavour is powerful, nice roasted note, good teaish hop flavour with a little bite to it. Quite sweet, but balanced nicely by the alcohol.

Draught@RNH. Dark opaque black color, tiny brownish head. Aroma has coffee, wood and alcohol. Medium bodied. Lots of dark malts, rye bread, wood, and punch of alcohol. Sticky. It feels like aged in oak. Quite simple although somewhat tasty.

(22oz bottle) Pours a black body with a medium tan head. Aroma of licorice, roasted malt, fennel, chocolate, herbs, and pine. Flavor of roasted malt, grapefruit, chocolate, licorice, toffee, pine, florals, and coffee with a dry, moderately bitter finish. Excellent!

22oz bottle. Small tan head atop black body with brown edges. Aroma is moderately sweet, orange, some milk chocolate, roast, grapefruit, light anise, alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet, chocolate, orange, some grapefruit, light roast, alcohol warming. Grapefruit becomes more pronounced in both aroma and taste as the beer warms. Anise and some cherry creep in too. Grapefruit/orange hop burp. Smooth medium-full body, dangerously easy drinking. Damn, they aren’t kidding about the dry hopping. If Goose Island called this an IIBA, I couldn’t argue with them.
