Transfer from BA review on 12-9-12- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – Poured a deep brown colored brew with a two finger tan head. The head had a moderate level of retention, fading over time to give a medium level of lacing. Smell – The aroma was heaviest of roasted malt and some sweet smells of caramel and brown sugar. Mixed with these aromas and as the name would imply is a strong aroma of roasted almonds. Taste – The taste begins of roasted malt mixed with some of the sweet caramel that was detected in the nose. As the taste advances further other sweet buttery toffee flavors and some chocolate also come to the tongue as well as a nut flavor. While initially the nuttiness was light as the taste advances to the end it becomes more pronounced. When a light earthy hop joins the roasted nut at the end it gives a very light bitter balance to the sweet and leaves a very pleasant aftertaste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. Overall – This is a quite tasty brew. It is sweet, roasty and nutty. Quite an easy drinker

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a decent hazy brown color with red tints along the sides of the glass. The head was about a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some speckled light lacing. The smell had a rich roasty nutty to caramel maltiness with some light breadiness running over top of some light chocolate malts. The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors and combined them pretty good. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly good sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued as there’s a decent smooth creaminess about it. Overall, I say this was a pretty good brown ale I’d have again.

Pours dark amber with a red tint. Almost no head. The aroma is kind of fruity. The flavor has caramel and some nuts. The finish is a bit thin. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with minimal head. Aroma of hazelnut, vanilla, roasted malt, and caramel. Medium light bodied. Creamy slick texture. Some cocoa in taste as well. Very nice. Smooth. Almost beats Roque hazelnut nectar.

12oz bottle pours a dark, translucent, deep mahogany brown with some thin, slightly off white head. Nose is very bready, crust, brown sugar, some yeast, some toasted malt, some root veg, a little soil. Flavor is the same, malty, caramel, bread crust, some toast, a little burnt milk, some overcooked root veg. Clean finish.
