Draft @ FoBAB 2009, Chicago, IL Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with hints of smoke and hints of bourbon. Slightly roasted malty caramel and dark sugar flavor with hints of bout and vanilla and hints of smoke. Has a fruity malty caramrl and smokey finish with hints of bourbon barrel in the aftertaste.

Sampled on tap at FOBAB. Pours a nice dark brown, translucent with some lighter edges, a decent tannish head that lays well. Aromas are brown malts, brown sugar, smokey cigar, cookies, a decent bourbon barrel element, oak and vanilla wet wood, more ominous and smokey. Initial is lighter bodied, tobacco smokiness, vanilla, brown sugar but largely tobacco dominant, lighter bourbon boozy element. Lighter bodied beer, quite drinkable, a bit of caramel sweetness turns into smoke, meaty smoke comes in later. Very nice, with bourbon and smokey meat coming out eventually.
