An aromatic blend of oats, chocolate and coffee enhances our classic Oatmeal Stout. Encompassing award-winning flavor, a rich black over ruby hue and a creamy tan head, this stout is memorable and enduring. All in all, a truly drinkable brew.

Brown black pour, modest beige head, quick fading. Lightly roasted malt aroma, slightly smoky. Flavor sweetish, offset by roasted notes, licorice, melon, coffee. Nicely rounded with some pineapple and citrus hops aromatics. Full bodied, very smooth.

Backlog rating from 2007. Bottle from Old Town. Chocolate and coffee aromas with some light toffee. Creamy mouthfeel with some sweetness.Has some light roasted flavor on the palate. Easy drinking but surprisingly full-flavored for the ABV. Not bad.

12 oz bottle shared by Spencer. The pour is a decently medium black with some ruby hints poking through and a decent tan head with a decent lace. The aroma is surprisingly good. Really roasty and a lot of chocolate. The pats really come through on the back end. The flavor is much more relaxed as you'd expect for a 5.5% sweet stout. There is a strong chocolate and roast presence. The mouth feel is excellent and creamy. Nice. The aftertaste is a little roasty and light. I'm a fan of this good stout ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The body has a very dark black colored body that blocks out the light. A light tan head caps off this opaque brew. From the pour I got a good two fingers of thick foam that slowly fades to a much thinner as I drink. It does hang on to the end and along the way it leaves some lace on the glass. In the nose there is a mix of bittersweet dark and roast malts with very light hops underneath. The flavor is full of delicious dark roasted goodies. There is a nice play between bitter sweet dark chocolate, caramel like notes and mild hop bitterness. It’s a just a little bit light on the palate but smooth and easy drinking

From a 12 oz bottle. Best consumed by date on the bottle of 05-24-07. Pours almost black with virtually no head. Aroma of chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with chocolate, licorice and coffee notes. Probably way past its prime.

A solid outing from Goose Island. Oatmeal comes across nicely in the flavor but especially the mouthfeel which is fairly oily. Rich, chocolatey, with some roasted aroma.
