Amber. Toasty aroma with a hint of chocolate and minerals. Vague caramel and toast. Uneventful. A real letdown given the authenticity of most of their brews.

Bottled, 355ml from Westholme Stores, Goring, Oxon. Orange amber with slight white head. Heavy caramel body, clinging toffee notes, seemingly a little over processed leading to a boiled herby flavour. Most odd and unfortunate. A pretty poor Oktoberfest beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at the Clybourn brewpub. The beer is a clear orange-brown color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt and mild hops. Light to medium body with flavors of malt, sweet caramel and toffee, and herbal hops. The finish is sweet and malty. Slightly above average overall.

(draught) Huge head, yellow; orange to light amber beer. Nose is grainy, a bit nutty too. Taste is refreshing, a bit citrussy, and very malty. However, it has an outspoken top-fermenting character, with fusels apparent! Slick, rather full mouthfeel. This does not fit the German idea of Oktoberfest/Märzen at all.

Amber colour, small thin white head. Sweet malty aroma. Bit of malt and bitterness for the taste buds. Meh… Unexciting.

Tap at Clybourn. Medium-deep ruby/orange pour with a light off-white head. Sweet caramel malt first hit the aroma and the flavor.. followed by some crisp, fresh floral hops. Light-med bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Finish was just lacking something.. can’t really place it.. Pretty solid all around, though.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a medium copper with a pleasant head. Sweet malty aroma with a touch of hoppiness. Sweet body with a mellow hoppy finish. Flavors include butterscotch and caramel. One of the better Oktoberfests on the market.
