COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the traditional Märzen style our Oktoberfest pours a brilliant copper over rose color with a bone white head. Notes of toffee and burnt sugar in the aroma and flavors of sweet dried apricots are delivered in a dry malty body with the mild earthy bitterness that is the hallmark of Hallertau hops.

Pours a coppery color with off-white head. Caramel malt, nuts, and roast on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with nuts and toffee.

Bottled. Dark brown. Nice refreshing taste. Has a nutty blend with apricots like the bottle says. Decent Okoberfest beer

Bottle at Yolo Microbrewfest. Pours really coppery with an off-white head. Near med body. Flavor is mildly roasty malt with nut hints. Decent, typically boring, marzen. My issue that.

Had a bottle at block party 2015. Nice toffee flavor with fruity apricot notes. Way better than the next Oktoberfest I will rate.

Bottle. Taste is baking spices, malt, grain, charred wood and a bit o’ honey. Smooth drinking and nice.

Bottle at home. Copper pour, clear, no head retention. Aroma is spice, toast, caramel, faint rasins. Taste is a bit fruity, rasins, banana, cloves, faint caramel, toasted malts, spice. Medium body, medium carbonation. Pretty good.

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Betton - 12 oz bottle. Medium copper pour, quickly fading light off-white head. Aroma of ripening vegetables, a touch of toffee. Flavor has some caramel sweetness, some ripening vegetables, a hint of sweet toffee. Mouthfeel has a nice decent thickness to it. Does in a pinch.

Pours a clear copper with not much head. Faint aromas of sugary malts and that’s about it. Flavor is a bit malty, with a hint of funky. Not bad, pretty drinkable, but also a bit of a safe entry into the style.

I have a rating entered for Goose Island Okfoberfest "Brewpub Recipe" and I have no idea what that entry was about because I didn’t have it at their brewpub. Either way, this rating belongs here and it seems a different, when comparing my notes here vs the old one. This is close to a true marzen, rich and chewy with toffee melanoidin malts, borders into sweet stone fruit. Tobacco and spicy hop notes at the end but overall sweet and maltty. Deep bronze color. I’m out of practice with malt heavy beers so I’m not sure if this features too much crystal malt or if that’s vienna. I used to drink so many sweet brown lagers but now those malt heavy beers are far less common than they used to be, everything is dominated by pale malts these days.

12 ounce bottle. Clear amber, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of toasted malts and citrus. The taste is berries, toasted malt, mild caramel, herbal notes. Thin bodied.
