COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the traditional Märzen style our Oktoberfest pours a brilliant copper over rose color with a bone white head. Notes of toffee and burnt sugar in the aroma and flavors of sweet dried apricots are delivered in a dry malty body with the mild earthy bitterness that is the hallmark of Hallertau hops.

12oz bottle shared. Pours copper red with off white head. Nice aroma of malts and some sweetness. Flavor wise for a marzan is actually pretty good solid malt backbone with something like a dried fruit and a touch of caramel. Overall good for style and flavor.

Location: Draft at The Hop, 9/20/13

Aroma: The nose is on-style, malty and bread/biscuit, with some underlying fruit notes
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear amber-orange color with a medium head and decent lace
Flavor: The flavor is medium sweet, clean and malty, with a light hop bitterness
Palate: The body is light, it has a pretty decent mouthfeel, and a clean, lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: Solid example of a fairly unexciting style. It does it’s job. That’s pretty much all I’ve got for this one.

Draft on tap at Tribes Alehouse (Mokena, IL). Pours a nice deep copper amber blend, near transparent, a healthy carmelized hue glows a bit darker, some more orange on the edges and bottom. A cakey offwhite head atop stays as a decent layer, good stick around, laces ok. Aromas show some biscuit and toast, gentle toffee sweetness, bread, gentle bread yeast, some subtle earthy florals and mellow spiciness, touch of crusty bread, touch of dark fruit. Initial is medium bodied, a touch of girth shows some toast and carmelized malts, biscuits, touch of toffee. Some sweetness meets some decent earthy hop bitterness, a touch floral and mellow spice. Middle is a bit fruity, some apple, gentle pit fruit and dark fruit influence hits quickly. Backend moves back to some soapy dryness, a bit floral and earthy, still a firmer body of toffee and biscuits, some gentle toastiness. That fruit feel in the middle is distinct for me. Touches of dryness, some gentle girth. Finish is a bit toasty, subtle carmelization, toast and some gentle dryness. Some gentle fuzziness, some spiciness, firmer biscuit. A solid Oktoberfest, not brooding or too thick, not too sweet, a nice earthy hop balance. Solid stuff.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with creamy off-white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of caramel malt and grassy hops. Body is medium and crisp. Caramel malt, herbal hops and hint of cherry nicely balanced on the palate. Finish is medium and balanced. Well made Oktoberfest.

12 ounce bottle into dimpled mug, bottled on 8/8/2013. Pours slightly hazy ruby copper color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Minimal lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big carmael, biscuit, toast, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, pear, apricot, nuttiness, floral, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/toasted malt notes with moderate yeast ester balance; and great strength. Taste of big caramel, biscuit, toast, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, nuttiness, floral, pear, apricot, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, brown sugar, brown bread, nuttiness, floral, and light pepper on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of dark/toasted/nutty malt flavors; with great robustness and minimal cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very creamy and moderately slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Oktoberfest style. Great robustness, balance, and complexity of malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
