COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the traditional Märzen style our Oktoberfest pours a brilliant copper over rose color with a bone white head. Notes of toffee and burnt sugar in the aroma and flavors of sweet dried apricots are delivered in a dry malty body with the mild earthy bitterness that is the hallmark of Hallertau hops.

Falls short of any extra ordinary iconic Oktoberfest. No hop bitterness. At least its a strong 6.4 abv. To plain for me

12 oz. bottle. Pours a rich orangish amber with a medium off white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, malt sweetness. Mild nuts and dark sweet bread notes. Flavor is crisp for a Marzen. Mild sweetness with mild earth and strong malt notes. Lively carbonation with medium body. Finishes mildly sweet with some mild hop presence. A pretty nice, restrained marzen.

Bottle at home. Pours brilliantly clear tawny with a medium, frothy beige head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is nutty, toast and honey malt, light caramel character and dark fruits with light spicy hops. Flavor is sweet malt dominant, light hops and bitterness, clean fermentation and a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Pailhead (5061) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - AUG 30, 2014
Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate caramel, lighter toffee, light fruit, and some earthy notes. It pours a transparent amber with a three finger orange tinted off-white head that has decent retention before finally fading to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with moderate toasted caramel notes with a touch of grain. The finish has light earthy bitterness and roasted nuts. It’s light-medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat sticky mouthfeel.

Amber with this head dissipates quickly. Spicy taste with a smooth finish. Could use more carbonation.

Very smooth oktoberfest brew. Cleanses the palate and leave you striving for another gallon.

Reddish pour from draft at goose island. White head. Carmel malty and sugary taste. Just ok

A bit hoppy for the style. Looks nice and dark copper though. Malty sweet nose. Hoppy fruity dry palate. Decebt

Tasty beer....not my style of choice but drank very smooth....more of a malt forward profile than like but i assume that is common for the style.

Bottle. Pours a clear, caramelly brown, medium whitish head with so-so retention and not much lacing. Nose is relatively weak, some caramel malts, brown sugar, pumpernickel toast. Mouth, by contrast, is quite tasty: medium bodied, semi-sweet, caramel malts, dried fruit, some vanilla and spicy notes, finishes a little bit bready. Tastes awesome for the style, but lacks in other categories. I love me some Märzen. Fall and hockey season are just around the corner. Prost indeed!
