2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
It has very little aroma. It pours a nice amber color, which I expected for this beer. Its very plain. The first sip starts off bland, a hint of malt. Then it finishes with a light bitter taste. That is it, it really had no complexity at all. It has a very light, watery palate. Just really depressing since its one of my favorite breweries. The old Oktoberfest was infinitely better then this.

12oz bottle from Kroger in Grandview. Orange pour with thin light tan head. Aroma of nutty today caramel. Tastes of sweet bready caramel, light bitter. Not a huge fan of the style - this is ok though.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Copper pour yields a small clingy head. Bready and malty nose give way to toffee and more malty flavor. Smooth and easy finish, this is a great Marzen.

Bottle. Murky deep orange pour with a small spotty head. Fairly malty. Sweet aroma with some dark fruit as well. Medium palate. Not bad for the style.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
APPEARANCE - traditional octoberfeast copper tan color. Nice head.
NOSE - perfect light malty sweetness.
FLAVOR - spot on for traditional Oktoberfest flavor.
NOTES - One more great addition to GI's new offerings.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Classic amber appearance with a large beige head and a fair amount of lacing. Fruity, sweet malt aroma with a hint of red licorice. Flavor stays sweet and fruity followed by a modest amount of spicy, herbal hops thru to the aftertaste. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel leading to an average length finish.

Pretty good for the style. Nice malty flavor but a fairly weak aroma. Not bad and worth trying.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A- Malty, spices, slightly sweet, brown sugar, apricots.
A- Copper color, clear liquid, tan head.
T- Malty, spices, stone fruits, burnt sugars.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish.
O- Some nice fruity notes you normally don’t get in a Marzen. I did like it less as it warmed but overall, it was a fairly good beer. Good spices and overall pretty well balanced. Not my favorite of the style but nothing wrong with it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted from bottle. Pours a clear orange with white head. Aroma has bready notes, dried fruit, caramel. Flavor is moderately sweet with biscuity caramel flavors and some spices. Minimal to no bitterness. Medium bodied. Definitely one of the better Marzen beers.
