Brewed in the traditional Märzen style our Oktoberfest pours a brilliant copper over rose color with a bone white head. Notes of toffee and burnt sugar in the aroma and flavors of sweet dried apricots are delivered in a dry malty body with the mild earthy bitterness that is the hallmark of Hallertau hops.

It has very little aroma. It pours a nice amber color, which I expected for this beer. Its very plain. The first sip starts off bland, a hint of malt. Then it finishes with a light bitter taste. That is it, it really had no complexity at all. It has a very light, watery palate. Just really depressing since its one of my favorite breweries. The old Oktoberfest was infinitely better then this.

10/2/15. 12oz bottle. I’m not really sure why this is a new/separate rating, but I won’t argue. Glad I looked it up! Amber pour with a small khaki head. Light biscuit and caramel aroma. Malty flavor, biscuit, caramel, doughy, light grassiness. Meh.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a glass. Clear light Amber with small white head. Aroma is caramel malt, medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is caramel malt.

Restrained, but well-balanced. Certainly not sweet, as this style can sometimes become. Not particularly exciting, but nothing offensive. Just your typical Oktoberfest.

bottle @ Chief Market / Lima OH --- Clear amber brown color, full beige head, lace sheets. Aroma of malt and burnt sugar. Taste is toffee and malt that grow sweeter and fuller as they move smoothly to a lightly carbonated swallow. Hops are only slightly apparent in the finish, but it’s enough to balance this beer very nicely. A good Marzen style brew.

Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good brew.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear copper color without much depth and a small off-white head that settles into an uneven ring and wispy film while leaving a few spots of lace in the glass. Notes of toasted sugar, biscuit, light toffee, grass, mild spice, apple - I don’t really get the apricot notes they mention on the label. More fruit in the back of the flavor, with bigger malts and more earth and malt in the aroma. Light-medium bodied, with modest carbonation and an earthy, fruity, malty mouthfeel. Decent Oktoberfest.

On tap at BJ’s in Fort Collins. Clear orange appearance with a frothy beige head. Smooth, malty and a pretty clean rendition with mild noble hop spice.

Rated on 10-06-2015 (Kroger Marketplace-Fort Wayne, IN) This bottled beer pours a very small beige head that has a short retention, amber transparent body, fast rising carbonation, and no lacing. The aroma is malt, toffee, citrus hops, fruity, earthy, and light spice. The flavor is semi-sweet, lightly bitter, citrus hops, fruity, spice, and malt. The mouthfeel of this beer is light carbonation and this is a light bodied beer. A quaffable beer that lacks in character.
