3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Good Oktoberfest style. A little sweet on the palate going down. Would rather my Oktoberfest have a little richer taste versus sweet finish. For the price a good kickoff to the season

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A malty and sweet beer. Light on the flavors. Some yeast, not much hops. It’s OK.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Grain and bread malts, caramel, light metallic. Clear, dark gold, small, creamy, white head. Light sweet. Intense grain and bread malts, caramel, molasses, lively carbonation, medium bodied. OK Maerzen, solid but not outstanding. Keg at the brewery tap room, Chicago.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Goose Island’s Oktoberfest is an extremely approachable Festbier. Copper-colored pour with a decent amount of foam and lacing. Rich malty smells and a light fruitiness. Candy-like malt flavors with some mild, tea-like hops at the finish. Texture is just above medium-bodied. Smooth body, medium carbonation. Clean aftertaste, a bit of lingering sweetness. Damn easy to drink.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a clear golden brown from the bottle thin wispy off-white head that leaves light lace. Aroma of deep caramel and melanoiden malts with a hint of earth. Taste follows, a clean oktoberfest, nice malt forward character. Decent for an American version of the style.

10/2/15. 12oz bottle. I’m not really sure why this is a new/separate rating, but I won’t argue. Glad I looked it up! Amber pour with a small khaki head. Light biscuit and caramel aroma. Malty flavor, biscuit, caramel, doughy, light grassiness. Meh.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Restrained, but well-balanced. Certainly not sweet, as this style can sometimes become. Not particularly exciting, but nothing offensive. Just your typical Oktoberfest.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle @ Chief Market / Lima OH --- Clear amber brown color, full beige head, lace sheets. Aroma of malt and burnt sugar. Taste is toffee and malt that grow sweeter and fuller as they move smoothly to a lightly carbonated swallow. Hops are only slightly apparent in the finish, but it’s enough to balance this beer very nicely. A good Marzen style brew.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good brew.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear copper color without much depth and a small off-white head that settles into an uneven ring and wispy film while leaving a few spots of lace in the glass. Notes of toasted sugar, biscuit, light toffee, grass, mild spice, apple - I don’t really get the apricot notes they mention on the label. More fruit in the back of the flavor, with bigger malts and more earth and malt in the aroma. Light-medium bodied, with modest carbonation and an earthy, fruity, malty mouthfeel. Decent Oktoberfest.
