COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the traditional Märzen style our Oktoberfest pours a brilliant copper over rose color with a bone white head. Notes of toffee and burnt sugar in the aroma and flavors of sweet dried apricots are delivered in a dry malty body with the mild earthy bitterness that is the hallmark of Hallertau hops.

This is the new recipe bottled by AB-InBev. Old entries for the earlier bottled and Brewpub version are located here: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/goose-island-oktoberfest-brewpub-recipe/6808/

Very good aroma. Has the scent of their bourbon county stout (which I love). Different from other Oktoberfest beers. Malty, sweet, slight smoke flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

APPEARANCE - traditional octoberfeast copper tan color. Nice head. NOSE - perfect light malty sweetness. FLAVOR - spot on for traditional Oktoberfest flavor. NOTES - One more great addition to GI's new offerings.

BOD 8/13/15. Pours a clear amber with a rich garnet cast. Outstanding head volume, world class lacing and retention. Quite good, but light, nose of toffee, biscuit, light caramel, hints of pear and subtle earthy hops. Heavy light body with a smooth texture that has creamy hints. Superb carbonation with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a nice burst in the finish. The carbonation is almost perfect for the body. The flavor profile is quite outstanding. It’s balance is nearly perfect. It starts with light toffee that flows into a caramel sweetness that is just enough to notice but not dominate. The middle brings a slight earthy hop flavor and bitterness. Light pear creeps out as the finish approaches. The finish is fairly clean with a subtle earthy hop flavor lingering.

12 ounce bottle into dimpled mug, bottled on 8/8/2013. Pours slightly hazy ruby copper color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Minimal lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big carmael, biscuit, toast, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, pear, apricot, nuttiness, floral, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/toasted malt notes with moderate yeast ester balance; and great strength. Taste of big caramel, biscuit, toast, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, nuttiness, floral, pear, apricot, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, brown sugar, brown bread, nuttiness, floral, and light pepper on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of dark/toasted/nutty malt flavors; with great robustness and minimal cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very creamy and moderately slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Oktoberfest style. Great robustness, balance, and complexity of malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Goose Island Oktoberfest has an extremely thick, bone-colored head, a semi-clear, amber appearance, with moderate lacing and lots of white specs roiling throughout. The aroma is of dried apricot and toffee and bread crust, and the flavor is of those elements, with Roman Meal brand bread and noticeable, mild, and appropriate bitterness rounding it out. Mouthfeel is medium, and Goose Island Oktoberfest finishes dry and highly gulpable. RJT

I had this at Global Brew. Pours orangish with a white head. Taste sweet, caramel, bready. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Copper pour yields a small clingy head. Bready and malty nose give way to toffee and more malty flavor. Smooth and easy finish, this is a great Marzen.
