3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, bought @ Bishop’s Arms,Cph.
Pours opaque red-black with a lovely, frothy, staying, beige head. Aroma has soft nuttiness, roasted malts, sweet milky chocolate. High carbonation, light and quite dry mouthfeel. Flavour starts a bit anonymous, turns mild roasted, some nuts, chocolate, mildsmoke and peppery coriander. Not bad, just not that spectacular either.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
My first black saison beer. Poured a very deep dark brown color with a light tan 2 finger head that lasted all the way down. The aroma was yeasty with spicy berries or even a red spicy zinfandel aroma. Also some blood orange and rich reduced fruit juice smells. The taste again brings forth that Belgium spicy yeast along with coriander. The finish taste is a touch of roast malt and chocolate. Palate is a very fine carbonation that cleans the mouth. Another stunner for Goose Island brewery.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber. Light black pour, large light tan head. Roasted grain, rye, hay, slightly herbal, and light notes of sweet fruit and pepper. I am not enjoying to much, I am not a big fan of these rye "saisons".

12oz 2011 bottle, pours black with a decent tan head and spotty lacing, the aroma has a nice amount of roastiness mixed in with the rye and malt, the flavor is most of the same with a sweetness in the finish, meh.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black with a huge mocha head...decent retention. Aroma is very faint...light roastiness, milky, notable rye. Flavor is much different than the aroma...still has rye but much more like a saison with dry peppery and spicy notes and a pleasant tartness. Mouthfeel is lively and a bit thicker than many saisons with a very dry lingering roasted spice finish. Interesting and tasty!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Stirchley Wines drank round The Jenners, 30/07/11. Deep ruby with a fine, unshrinking beige foam. Enticing Belgian yeast on the nose; blackcurrant skins, nectarine, cranberry and wine gums. Elegant beer softly oozing class; orange wine gums, gentle pepperiness, oak and vanilla, softly roasted afters. Beer of My Birthday.

12oz bottle. Deep dark brown with a tan head. Light sourness in the aroma, with some yeastiness and roast as well. Flavor is also slightly sour, some dark fruits, spice, and roast. Lighter body with tiny, bubbly carbonation.
