UPDATED: JAN 26, 2012 12 oz bottle shared by Jimmie. Poured a clear burnt red wih a smaller foamy light beige head. Aroma is very nice, big raisin bread, vanilla, bread. Flavor has more vanilla and alcohol with fruit notes coming in next finished by breads. Palate has some serious heat at first that settles quickly over a medium body and stronger carbonation. Good stuff.

12 oz bottle, 2011. Pours a dark burnt orange with small khaki head. The aroma has a dominant Amaretto character, along with bits of raisin, cherry, black currant, and Little Debbie cinnamon swirls. The flavor is nice and malty with raisin and cake notes. Fortunately it’s dry enough to cut all the richness. The finish has wood, earth, and alcohol notes. That Amaretto deal lingers into the aftertaste, which is quite nice. Tasty beer.

Bottle/22oz - Pours a dark reddish amber in color with a medium light tan head that stuck around to produce some really nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is malty and slightly sweet with elements of caramel/toffee, some dark fruit and some of the lighter fruits also (apple?). Flavor is slightly sweet and heavy with the caramel/toffee. The dark fruit not as pronounced, but definitely some apple or pear or melon going on. Better than average palate. Lingering malty sweetness with some of the estery fruits as well. No evidence of alcohol. Excellent... really enjoyed this one...

9/23/11 notes: A amber brown in color, soft pearl white head. Aroma is sweet butter, ripe pear, melon, almond. Flavor is savory sweet, well balanced with spices, leading to a finish that doesn’t end too drying, nor overly sweet. Very enjoyable.
