Brewed with loads of malt and Belgian yeast, Pere Jacques is a wonderfully fruity, malty ale. Pere Jacques’ complex flavors stand shoulder to shoulder with the Belgian Dubbels enjoyed in the world’s finest beer bars. At the dining table it’s the perfect alternative to a glass of vintage port.

Bottle. Pours a rich amber with a nice head and lacing. Aroma is nutty raisin. Flavor is a sour-sweet raisin, with plum and peach in the background. Full and coating on the tongue. A nice effort.

Served on tap. Pours reddish brown with a sizable tan head. Smells like apple, caramel, brown sugar and port. Taste was the same but had a medicine quality in the mix. Palate was pretty nice but again the medicine taste was there. Hints of vanilla and cherry came in towards the end. This started bitter but smoothed out nicely. Nice brew.

Very nice dark amber color with average head that initially dimishes but a thin layer remains throughout the glass. A little too yeasty for me, but will be a favorite among fans. Good beer nonetheless!

(BOTTLED 3/18/05 THANKS TO KEVIN OR KRAMER FOR THE HOOK UP)murky brown body with an off-white head.caramel malts, hard candy, and figs made the aroma.flavor mixed up the same with a little brown sugar, and honey.only complaint was it lacked carbonation.

Bottled 012306 #1105. Pours a rich mahogany color with a small off white head. Aroma was of fresh dough and honeysuckle. Nice crisp taste of sweet hops and malts. Kind of a medium bodied beer that has all sorts of flavors dancinng around on the taste buds. This is a outstanding brew!

On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe. Pours a darker amber with a hint of brown. Larger frothy tannish white head that definitely stick around for most of the glass. Aroma has hints of dark fruit and Belgian sweet malts that are quite thick. Flavor brings a Belgian sweet yeast and malt taste while also hinting on vanilla, cherries, darker sugars, and caramel. Palate lingers with the sugar and malts for the most part. 9% ABV is hidden well. I’d definitely drink this many times again!

From Immy’s Tasting, courtesy of Secret Santa Eve! So much good stuff was going around at the point this came out that I’m not sure how many people got the chance to try it. Too bad, as it was excellent. Medium towards dark amber color. Rich aroma of dark cherry, with a hint of molasses, quite rich. Flavor matched, with a bit of a vanilla note as well. Very, very nice, great way to finish off a great tasting event.

Deep bronze with thin head, full fruity aroma, layers of sweet malt and yeast, dried fruit and toffee. Really delicious and warming.
