3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (101505). Strong floral aroma accompanied by noticeable malt and hints of ripe, perhaps dark, fruit. Translucent dark ripe apricot color with a minimal head that minimally attempts to lace. Medium mouthfeel. Starts with ripe stone fruit, a touch of raisin, the effect of alcohol in the nose, and a finish that is surprisingly dry with a slight touch of bitter. Forgot to mention the caramel malt that rises after the start, which is why the dryish finish was surprising.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A: The pour is a clear light, golden brown with a nice fluffy head on top.
S: A very sweet nose on this one. A lot of sugar and not very much malt, some pears, and perhaps a bit of raisin as well. Not exactly "Dubbel-like".
T: Like the nose, the amount of sugar in this beer is a bit too much. Very, very sweet with some pear and a noticeable alcohol heat and taste.
M: The body is medium with fairly light carbonation. There is a definite dryness to the finish (probably from all the candi sugar).
D: This one was just far too sweet for me. It had some nice fruit notes both in the aroma and flavor, but the overwhelming presence of the sugar sort of drowned them out.
