COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chicago, home to more Czechs than any city outside the Czech Republic, is a fitting home for America’s finest Pilsner. Goose Island Pils is craft brewed and cold lagered for a crisp refreshing taste.

Golden color, noble hop aroma, crisp pilsner malt flavor, light body

Clean aroma, floral and spicy noble hops, faint malt. Brilliant clear gold color, medium white head, lots of big bubbles. Nice balance in the flavor, clean hops and malt, nothing overpowering, and no off-flavors (which is quite a compliment for a pils). Medium body, smooth. Very nice pilsener-style beer, very clean and balanced - I love a good pils!

Light gold appearance with a distant aroma of barley. Well carbonated, light to medium bodied with a clean, crisp, decently hopped flavor.

Bottle Pours a clear, very pale golden color with a medium size fizzy white head. Faint pale grain aromsa with some sweetness like honey. Don’t detect much hops. Flavors are mainly cereal, bread and little hops. Quite fizzy carbonation and a light clean feel. Not bad for the style. Thanks MrFacto

Light gold and blonde in the glass with a brief white head. Aromas of hops and a good musty yeast, but also sour smells of something chemical or sanitized. Flavors are better, but pretty simple. Kind of heavy on the hops, but to my liking. Full and suprisingly deep palate. Pretty decent for the style -- not one that many will attempt.

Pours a golden yellow, lots of bubbles and foamy head. Aroma is lemon. Flavor is that of big malts and crisp flavor. A little corn, and lemon. Palate is smooth for the style.

Bottle. Golden orange in color, clear. Frothy head that departed soon. Some lacing. This is a good example of what the american giants should taste like (If you like that style of beer) I still don’t understand the attraction to the flavor of a pilsner.

Dark orange color with a thin head. Solid malt aroma with a hint of hops. Dry malt taste. Not to go all marketing-VP here, but it is pretty crisp and clean. Not a bad pils by any stretch.

Bottle. Yellowish color with just a bit of haze. Decent white head fades slowly to a thin film. Modest lacing. Aroma is lightly floral hops with hints of malt. Light to medium bodied. Crisp and somewhat drying. A fair Pilsner.

Pailhead (4637) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - OCT 27, 2004
Bottle: Aroma is somewhat hoppy, more than you would expect from a pilsner. Lightly malty with apple. Pours a slightly hazy pale yellow with a quickly diminishing white head. Flavor is malty with apple. Light bitterness in the finish. Light hop aftertaste. NIce balance. Refreshing, but still a pilsner. Pilsners bore me in general, but this is probably close to any of the better pilsners I’ve had.
