I really enjoyed this Pils. It had just the right amount of hoppiness and a good malt taste.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very light/chardonnay color with a minimal white head. Theres an abundant hop presence here, both in smell and taste. This one certainly blurs the line between Pils and APA. Crisp and clean floral taste with a very hoppy aftertaste. Suprising amount of lacing for such a small head. This beer is definately underrated as far as the percentile.

A wet-soil-covered-with-eggs stink hovers around the bready yeast...But an interesting stink, if such a thing is possible...Pomelos simmer with hearty hops and the thought of sulphur is vanquished...A very unique memento of it all lingers in the throat for awhile...

Nice pilsener, crisp, dry, European hop presence. Drank on a hot day-perfect.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clean and light describes this well. Flavor is very reminiscent of the European Pilsners. I enjoyed this more than most of the other Goose Island beers I've sampled.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
A clean and light pils. Color and body were lighter than I would have liked. On the upside, there was an adequate amount of hops to keep this crisp - I found a surprising amount of black pepper flavor in this. It's above the swill, but I would more likely reach for a Prima or Burnham Pils.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
I was surprised at how much this smelled and tasted like a pale. I would have never guessed that it's pilsener. It is very hoppy, but molty enough to balance it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I agree with the previous rater. The underwhelming reviews this beer has received did not cloud my palate. This one is very similar to Victory Pils, and is actually a bit more drinkable. No cloying peppery flavor here; this one hits with lemony crispness and perfect carbonation. When I'm in the mood for a light Beverage of Mass Consumption (BMC), I will trek to the land of Goose Island Pilsener to confiscate my bounty.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: APR 9, 2003 In the realm of pilseners this is a very good brew. I am quite baffled by its percentile given its similarity to Victory Prima Pils which I feel is a bit of a stretch for a pilsener. This beer is smooth, crisp, subtly sweet with a light hoppy citrus finish. The aroma is fruity and mellow. The head maintains and has more lace than Liberace. I'm not buying the hype: this is a very fine beer.
