Dry and roasty, well attenuated, light fruitiness, medium light bitterness, had no idea this was 7.4%, really a nice cross of a roasty dry and fruity sweet baltic.

Flight on tap at the Clybourn brewpub (Chicago, IL). Pours a rich blackish hue, opaque aside from some ruby edges. A frothy tannish head sits atop, dies to a film, laces ok as it sticks around as a thicker ringer. Aromas are a bit stranges, pretzels and roast, toast and some gentle cocoa hit the nose. Lots of dark chocolate as it warms, a faint touch of dark fruit. Roasty, full. Initial is medium bodied though the fuller slant of that, offering tons of dark cocoa and gentle roast. Sweet cocoa, pretzel bread, toffee, and biscuits. Touches of raisin, dark chocolate, and coffee mix into the fold. Backend is more roasty and bitter, with lingering sweet elements dancing in. Dry roast, dry dark bakers cocoa, and touches of gentle hops. The roast and fruity essence comes into the fold here, gentle black currant and plum, but weighed heavy (rather cancelled near to faint strength) by roast, toast, dark cocoa, and depth of malts. Finish is roasty, dry, dark cocoa, yet still picks up some decent dark fruit presence. Can’t be denied that this is a solid Porter. Very nice in my opinion, with great complexity, some good synergy and combatative flavors. Very nice, some strangeness to it, but I did enjoy this beer experience..

Draft at Clybourn. Not really a Baltic, imo. Pours a deep brown/black with offtan head. Nose is strongly roasty and nutty, scorched grain note. Some light fruity and grape notes. Not quite a baltic. On tasting, fruity, medium roast. An odd phenol note comes across the palate. A bit boozy and just not all there. Okay but lacking finesse.

Aroma of chocolate and roast. Nice espresso head. Big body with a creamy mouth. Roast & nutty flavor. After taste lingers with some mild sweetness. Nice lacing. Super dark pour. This was pretty good.

Sampler at gi clybourn... Pours a touch darker than cola, rich almost black in nature with a creamy light beige head resting on top... Nutty malt, cocoa, vanilla creaminess, and a touch of roast on the nose. A bit on the sweeter side... Flavors are mostly ofthe sweet stout variety with an almost lactose sweetness while in the same manner displaying notes of light roast and somewhat assertiveness. Smooth over creamy body but the residual sweetness is a bit overwhelming.

Draft... Medium brown with a lot of amber... Aroma is terrible, sweaty bo mixed with old burnt coffe... Taste is equally off and weird, coffee with nuts, molasses and grass... Big time pasd
