Dark with an average head. Subtle roasted character. Light chocolate and coffee throughout and hoppy bitterness in the finish. A pleasant and satisfying porter.

Had this on tap at the Clybourn brewpub. (It’s one of Goose Island’s seasonals listed on their beer menu; can’t believe that I’m the first to try this on the site!). Beer was black with a thick frothy head. Aroma was strong of coffee grounds and malt. Flavor was fanstastic; coffee, roasted nuts, cocoa, and malt. Finish was bitter coffee and mild hop. A great beer. (Someone else please get the deScription next time you’re at the Goose Island Clybourn Brew Pub. I didn’t bother to write it down, figuring that it was already listed on the site, and I don’t see a mention of it on Goose Island’s website).
