From Greg Hall:
"BCS rare, I’m excited. Brewed in 2008, aged for 24 months in 23 year old Pappy Van Winkle Barrels. These are the very best smelling barrels I’ve come across in 18 years of barrel aging beer. Barrels were originally filled with spirit in 1985. We have 50 bourbon barrels aging, it will be a one time bottling, it will not be repeated."

Bottled@Yespr’s blindtasting. Extremely black colour with a small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, smoked wet wood, quite much liquorice and sweet as well. Flavour is bigtime liquorice along with some nuttyness, alcohol and some wooden and vanillaish notes. Strong, balanced and rather complex.

Bottle 65 cl. Blind tasting. Courtesy of Theis. Pours an opaque black with a brownish head. Sweet hard roast aroma, vanilla and Bourbon in the licorice allsorts fashion. Very full-bodied, sweet roast, a little sweet licorice, raisins and other dark dried fruits - again lots of vanilla and Bourbon. Lovely in small quantities - a meal in a bottle. 260511

2011 bottle at 14.5% abv. Thanks Jack for a crack at this beast! Palate is slightly viscous with mild fine carbonation. Spirity aniseed dark malt with bourbon. Mild chocolate and coffee. Mild tangy. Semi dry finish, warming. Good but should bee better, could do with some more time I think.
