This is the brewery’s gabf pale ale entry, this year made with citra. Don’t expect any awards for this one! A light copper with a tope head, head rises about two fingers and looks generic, like it was made for a commercial, weird bubble formation, I later assume this is due to it being cask conditioned which I didn’t initially know...A light aroma that is distinctly citra hops but they are light and do not show as strongly as most citra beers do. Slightly disappointing...The taste is even more disappointing, an almost flavorless beer, can’t believe this is cask, with only light pine and a very metallic finish. This was a bar tender recommendation, but take mine and don’t bother getting this.

Voice recorder rating. At Clybourne. Pours a hazy pale golden. Nice sweet fruity aroma. Light bodied without being watery. Lots of sweetness, with notes of orange peel, banana, and subtle spicy phenols. Probably too sweet and one dimensional for some, but I did not mind it.

Pours a hazy lemon yellow with almost no head. Aroma is very tart but mild. Flavor is tart with lemon notes. Body is crisp and light with a fair amount of carbonation.

Tap @ Clybourn. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, banana, clove, and citrus. Similar flavors and it finishes light. Easy to drink.

Tap at Clybourn and served in tulip: Golden hue with a solid white head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of Belgian sugars, pale biscuity malts, earthy, some resiny hops and pepper, banana and pear esters. The taste is honestly a bit difficult to grasp, the Belgian influence is there but the hops don’t mesh too well with the sweetness and fruity profile IMO. The herbal and spicy finish is the highlight of the flavor profile. The mouth feel is slightly oily and syrupy, strange malt astringent character about the finish. I really hoped for more, a drinkable beer but not much else.

Draft at Wrigleyville. Poured a cloudy yellow color with a white head. The aroma was of light banana and clove. Smelled a bit like a hefe. Delicately sweet up front with a dry, mildly bitter finish. Carbonation was middle of the road. I tasted clove, banana bread, light caramel, and a splash of lime. There was also a hint of champaign. Decent.

Draught at Clybourn. No head, murky golden, very clovey tart. Light. Citrusy with a hint of dryness from the hops.

On tap at the Clybourn location. I had just sampled the Lunar replicale not long before and I didn’t know if I wanted something that resembled that. But when she said it was a dollar off, I got off the fence. Hazy golden in a tulip glass with a white head. Although light, the hops are interesting in the nose. Herbal and spicy with lemon and malt underneath. The flavor was also light and leaving more to be desired. The interesting hop presence and spice becomes a little annoying and overwhelms the light lemony malts. The more I drink of it, the more bored of it I become.

Pretty darn good stuff. A blend they somehow pull off blending the classic Belgian fruity/spicy and the edginess of the hops. I keep wandering across the street and having another glass.

Was not a fan of this, it looked like a neon Hefe. Way too lemony as well. Also too sweet. Might be somehting they were going for broad appeal with, but I dont know if i would recomend it to a uneducated beer drinker.
