emerson430 (82), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Feb 16, 2008 Cask pull at the Goose Island brewpub in Chicago. Nice off white head with a reddish brown body. Not too hoppy and a touch of roasty malt. I would have this again.
BitchesBrew (699), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Feb 21, 2008 [cask at Clybourn brewpub] Hazy brownish red color. Nicely topped with a foamy tan head. Malty, slightly sweet aroma. Very subtle smoke character. Malt-focused flavors with a mellow, earthy bitterness. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Tmoney99 (3617), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jan 26, 2008 Draft at Clybourn brewpub. Poured clear brown color with an average off-white creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate earthy tart citrus aroma. Medium body with light carbonation. Medium earthy bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew. chicagodri (539), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 12, 2008 On tap at GI. Served in a pint glass, brown body with very thin white head. It has a nice flavor of caramel and smoky notes really come through in this beer. I thought it was very good. drewbeerme (1837), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 13, 2007 5% version on tap, from memory. poured amber with small off white head. nose has toasted grains, smoke, and peat. mouthfeel was thin and finished watery. flavor had a nice caramel and subtle smoke notes. pretty decent.
