on tap at big hunt...super dissapointed in this one, tasted like saison stuffed with mild citrus sugar....no longer light on the palate, or carbonation and mouthfeel was syrupy. booo

Tap from Lazy Dog. Pours a light transparent gold with a thin layer of cream colored head. Aroma of sour and fruit. Sour really comes through on the taste with a bit of funk.

Tap in a snifter at Blues Bar. Cloudy marigold color with lots of tiny bubbles streaming toward the top. This is a very full pour into the snifter so I’m not sure if a head normally exists. In this sample there’s a thin white ring literally at the top of the glass. Smells like a glass of Pinot Grigio. In fact, blindfolded I would guess wine in the glass. I get peach and nectarine more than grapefruit. The taste is slightly sweet up front from the juice followed by the familiar farmhouse funk. It finishes by leaving a sour taste in the back of your throat and a wheat malt kiss on the tip of your tongue. It’s a nice blend of sweet and tart. Maybe there’s something wrong with me, but I don’t get that much grapefruit, but that doesn’t hurt the beer.

Clear golden with a thin lacing of white head. Aroma is strong, concentrated grapefruit. Flavor is really dry grapefruit with some light herbs. Very light and fruity, with a strong tartness. Wife: 4.75

Enjoyed on tap at Wild Monk. Served in a tulip. A: Pours a clear gold color with a thick white head forming on the pour. Recedes slowly to a thick cap that leaves tons of soapy lace down the glass. S: Huge grapefruit. on the nose. A ton of bright zest and intense flesh. The sweetness of the grapefruit is captured and it doesn’t impart any tart or acidic notes. The base is only mildly present in the nose. T: The grapefruit is much subdued in the taste which is a slight disappointment. The base saison is much more prevalent with some light peppery notes and fruity esters. Sweet wheat notes with some light zesty grapefruit. Mild pithy bitterness. M: Very light and crisp with a medium high carbonation. Great drinkability. Zesty sweet finish. O: The nose was fantastic, but the taste was lacking that grapefruit pop and was not all that different from regular Sofie. Having said that I still enjoyed this beer and would gladly have it again. On tap at Taps in Petaluma. Pours a hazy pale brown color without any head. A little flat. Not much sourness but good hints of grapefruit.

On tap at Slows BBQ. Really nice and refreshing look. Followed by very tropical flavors as soon as it hits and gets a little funky towards the end.
