UPDATED: JUL 31, 2013 May 11, 2013 - tap at GI 25th anniversary party. Clear yellow pour with no head. Aroma was citrus, spice and sour. Taste was consistent with aroma. Had again 7.31.13 - on tap and big head with lacing so bumping to a 4 and overall to 16, this is solid.

Draft at Eulogy. Mostly clear gold pour with a large white head. Lots of grapefruit. Pineapple. Clementines. Fresh oak. Vanilla. Honeycomb. Biscuits. Lemon seeds. Little bit sweet. Little bit sour. Slight Brett funk. The grapefruit juice somewhat overpowers the aged ale underneath. Fizzy body. Nice and refreshing.

Draft at Stag’s Head. Pours almost clean gold with a thick, foamy white head. Aroma of light grapefruit rind and juice. Taste is slightly yeasty with significant notes of grapefruit w juice and grassy hops. Finishes juicy and clean. Very refreshing and drinkable. Grapefruit profile becomes more prominent as you drink it, in a good way. Good stuff.

Glass at Hal & Al’s on 6/18/13. Clear yellow in color with a thick white head. Aroma of herbs, malt, funk and citrus. Malty and herbal flavor with some grapefruit before a sweet finish. Grapefruit was more subtle than expected. Honestly, I don’t think I’d have been able to pick it out if I didn’t know it was in there. Could probably tell a huge difference if I had it side by side with regular Sofie though.

Pours gold with a thick white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, slightly sweet malt and grapefruit. Taste is bitter from the hops and grapefruit while slightly sweet and malty at the same time, very cool beer.
