3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20 Beerenberger (789) - Fischer, Texas, USA - MAR 11, 2013
Appealing aroma of barnyard funkiness combined with touches of spice and citrus. Pours a light yellow with a white head which quickly dies and leaves no lacing. The taste is a bit of bubble gum, orange citrus, peppery spice with grainy finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel. Overall, a very tasty and enjoyable Saison. Would drink again.

Clear gold with a fluffy white head. Really nice lacing. Aroma has some barnyard, dust, lemon, and grass. Taste has lemon, pepper, a bit of funk, and a nice tartness to it. Dry finish. Very soft on the palate. Really nice saison.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jeremyh70 (351) - Missouri, USA - MAR 8, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 17, 2013 Poured a hazy straw yellow with two fingers of white bubbly head that leaves behind good lacing. Aroma is subtle but complex with some lemon, cracker malt, light fruit sweetness and a bit of barnyard. Taste has the same subtle complexities. Lemon, orange and light fruit flavors with the cracker malt followed by white pepper and an earthiness or leathery component. Just a hint of tartness and funk in the finish. Flavors are all wonderfully light and balanced, with nothing overpowering. Starts off with some sweetness but ends up being fairly dry with a medium mouthfeel. Very nice and drinkable cross between a Belgian pale and a saison. Really enjoyed.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 maekchu (1090) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAR 7, 2013
Bottle from Village Wine and Spirits in Athens. Yeast, esters, apples, and light sugary nose. Very pale straw, thin fine white head. Light tangy fruit initial, with apples and pears / settles into an even lighter fruit mid, with a little bitternes / finish is mild, with some lingering fruit and a sense of balance. Thin-medium body. Pleasant. Nothing really special here. Kind of a Belgian lite.

Appearance was cloudy pale gold with diminishing tiny rocky off white head, no lacing. Aromas are sweet biscuity malts, floral, grass, pine, barnyard funky yeasts. Taste are citrus fruits of orange, lemon, pine with a smash of Sour Bretts yeasts, no alcohol present. Palate was soft smooth CO2 with light-meduim body, then lasting barnyard funky citrusy finish. A wonderful Saison.

This is a hazy yellow beer with a lot of banana and gum. Reminds me of a hefe plus a little spritzy bite. The aroma is earthy.
