Bottle pour to Trappist glass. Clear yellow color with foamy white persistent head. Aroma citrus, light fruits and spice. Taste matches with citrus, Belgian yeast, spices, sweet malt. Finish tangy and abrupt but very pleasant. Palate carbonated, smooth. Alcohol not apparent.
Nice saison, just a hair behind Hennepin for US saisons but very good.

Light golden color. Aroma is full of coriander and cloves. Flavor is full of spices. I can taste a bunch of coriander in the finish. Definitely a good Belgium.

Happy fatherís day to me. I have to be honest, I didnít take good notes so hereís the memory. Golden color with not much head. Nice fruit smell and a decent taste but, nothing overly special.

12 ounce bottle from Sicilianoís in Grand Rapids. 2010 vintage. Pours a hazy lemon yellow color with a large frothy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus, yeast, peach and pear. Lightly tart. The taste is very fruity... citrus, pineapple, banana. A bit yeasty and a tart finish. Medium bodied. Pretty nice.

Tap @ OBF... Incredible Saison! Poured pale, straw, yellow, with a white head that last with a thick layer on the surface. Aroma was tart, with flaky grains. Melon, honeydew, grassy with a strong yeast spice. Citrus hop notes to counter the fruity, dry tart tones. Dry finish with a yeasty tanginess.

22 oz bottle. Clear gold pour, with fizzy white head. Aroma of sweet grapes, citrus, orange peel, banana, and bread. Flavor is more focus on the bread, but still sweet and fruity. Light peppery hay notes. Body is pretty heavily carbonated and sharp. Overall a very interesting twist on the saison.

On tap at Coleís in Buffalo, NY, drank with Ender from TBS. Very enjoyable beer. I couldnít distinguish the citrus notes, but he made sure to let me know that they brewed it with a ton of orange peel. I got a distinct pepper finish - definitely spicy finish.

Pours a light straw yellow with hazy floaties and a fizzy white head. Aroma is intense citrus and orange. Taste is a flash of citrus and a light body. Very carbonated. Slightly peppery in the aftertaste which is really nice finish.

Notes of fruity esters, citrus, spicyness. Taste is spot on it has just the right amount of sourness. Full bodied yet easy drinking, crisp, and refreshing.

22oz Bottle. Pours clear honeyed golden/straw in colour. Later cloudy as I added the sediment. Bright white reasonably dense head which persists more than I would have imagined. Aroma is classic belgian blonde/saison/wheat beer-ish. Lots of lemon citrus, lots of lemon peel and obviously orange peel. Spices, yeast, and bread in the back ground, also a slight sulphurous/farmyard character, wet hay and so on. Classic aromas a plenty, basically. Flavour is more of the same, citrus is the flavour of the day, with loads of lemon and orange, fruit peel, not as tart as I would have expected - but this is good, I think. Nice use of balance between sweet and sharp. Lots of bready yeast and malt to balance. Reminds me of a tart lemon drizzle cake. Slight lemon sherbet quality to it in the mids and into the finish. Some sharp Lemon meringue as well. Very refreshing. I know only 20% of the beer used was aged in barrels, but still there is little, if any oak flavour imparted into the beer... I donít know if this is a good or bad thing. On the one hand, showing no oak, basically makes this a very well made Belgian beer out of the US, but this makes me think itís essentially a bit over priced for what it is. On the other hand, would an overly woody element done the brew any favours, perhaps not, though arguably there is the faintest touch of vanilla sweetness, which I suppose is the oak, but this is very subtle, so the debate still stands, is this a very well made, but somewaht overpriced Belgian/US beer, or does it deserve the price as a pint of solid beer? Mouthfeel is spot on, better than most Belgians could have pulled off. Whatís scary about this brew, is that it would appear that the Americans are now producing Belgian beer better than the Belgians themselves. Kudos to Goose Island.
