Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in wine barrels with orange peel, Sofie is a tart, dry, sparkling ale. A subtle, spicy white pepper note, a hint of citrus from the orange peel and a creamy vanilla finish make Sofie an intriguing choice for Champagne drinkers and beer drinkers who are fond of Belgian Saisons.

The best part of this beer was the citrusy grapefruit flavor. There were subtle notes of vanilla that snuck in. Really good, light and refreshing.

Pours hazy pale yellow with big white head. Aroma of oranges, yeast, light barnyard. Tart, citric, light bitter. Light body, lively carbonation, refreshing. Excellent saison.

Funky citrus floral aroma in a straw pour. Flavor is smooth, subtle, full, complex, and fruity - with a crisp clean finish that leaves one wanting another. Definitely a champagne of beers (and one my partner says is the best beer she has tasted).

Pours a thick, white, medium lasting head. Body is light to medium, hi carbonation, of a orangish yellow colour and very hazy. The aroma is of mediun intensity, with esters and a bit of orange zest. Tastes of sweet tropical fruits, light tartness, light bitterness and freshness. Very fresh, great for those hot days.

Smells very very sweet with citrus Pours a hazy gold with head that disapperas quickly. Taste is very sweet. Almost a mix between a tradition belgian ale and a wheat beer. Great carbonation. No aftertaste. Overall I was very happy, but probably wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase again. MB The Beer Bearon

Poured from 750ml dated Feb 13, 2014. Hazy golden color with minimal white head. Aromas of citrus vanilla and a hint of pepper. Taste is clean with notes so wine lemon and saison finish.

For someone who really likes his strong IPA's, this is one hell of a switch. Very refreshing and bubbly. Could drink this all night. Definitely taste the citrus but wouldn't have noticed the pepper if it wasn't already stated but it's certainly there but very late in the aftertaste for me. Just starting to delve into Belgium style ales and this is certainly a good start. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Delicious, light, sparkling. Smooth citrus, vanilla. But so smooth and sparkling. Feels like I should be drinking this in a field in southern France.

Tried about a week ago at the beginning of a long night of food and drink. Bottled aged about 18 months. I remember lots of saison yeast, mild farmhouse funk, clean, light grain. Don't remember much citrus. Champagne carbo/mouthfeel. Nice stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

1/10/16 Chicago (765 ML 2015 Bottle, poured into a tulip glass). Nice bright golden pour, slight white head. Pleasant yeast and orange aroma. Taste of chardonnay, orange and lemon. Mild carbonation, very smooth texture and easy going down. Dry, somewhat tart, enjoyable beer. Another great offering by Goose Island!
