COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in wine barrels with orange peel, Sofie is a tart, dry, sparkling ale. A subtle, spicy white pepper note, a hint of citrus from the orange peel and a creamy vanilla finish make Sofie an intriguing choice for Champagne drinkers and beer drinkers who are fond of Belgian Saisons.

Definitely my favorite of the goose belgians in 4 packs. Pours a clear light gold. Grat aroma of brett and fruit. Mostly dry with some residual sweetness nice hoppiness and yeasty spiciness. light bodied with high carb.

Doughy yeast in the nose and a touch of saline and citrus notes. Pours slightly cloudy, pale yellow, with quick white foam. Saline / tart notes in the taste, ester yeasts, and some orange citrus. The citrus persists to the end. Mild spice notes, some pepper and coriander. Medium body and light fizz. A touch of hoppy bitterness and a good, dry finish.

Many samples over the last several years, mostly in bottles but most recently on draught at Cafť Hollander in Madison, WI (early July 2016). Big lasting head tops an oily, lightly cloudy amber body...fairly sharp grapefruit-lemon and peppery nose, some fragrant light malts in there too as it warms, a hint of dry farmy yeast...peppery-spicy throughout on the tongue, lightly sweet in the middle of the palate, just a touch syrupy at first but drying out quite a bit towards the finish, which is tart and cidery...moderate to slightly strong carbonation, fairly full. This was better than recent small bottles Iíve had; the first (750ml) bottles I consumed in, oh, 2010/11 or so were better still I think, a bit more funky and full and dry. Still pretty solid on draught I think, but at this point I probably prefer Matilda.

Barnyard, grain and cereal malts, yeast, some sour fruits. Hazy, pale gold, medium, frothy, white head. Light bitter. More yeasty grains, some tart, fairly fruity, light spices, soft carbonation. Very solid Saison, well-balanced and complex. Keg at the brewery tap room, Chicago.

This little bottle held much more than I expected. I donít give 5 stars off handed. I poured from the bottle. Nice hazy lemon yellow in color with a suitable head and perfect amount of carbonation. The clean scent comes straight up and thatís about the only way I can describe it...clean. Very, very easy to drink with a slightly sweet, honey end. I donít normally like a citrus flavor but the vanilla sweetness keeps the citrus in check yet allows refreshing balance it it all comes together from the first sip to the last drink.

Pours pale yellow with a thin white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma a lemon, grapefruit, pear and yeast. Flavours are citrus, floral and wheat. The high carbination takes away from the flavours a bit but all in a very good beer.

I normally donít drink beer, but I think Iíve found the perfect "girly" beer I can stand. Great aroma, great on the palette . It almost has a champagne feel, which makes it much lighter than most beers . http://www.lifejunkee.com/the-girliest-beer-e

Bottle, 2016--straw color with medium carbonation and a small, white head. The aroma is sour pear. Light malt flavor with some citrus on the dry finish. Not very tart at all. Total Wine.

Tart lemony biscuity aroma with cherry and pepper. Pours a very hazy yellow golden color with small creamy head Tart lemony cherry flavor, light leather barnyard funk, bready, yeasty peppery. Medium light bodied with medium co2, lingering pleasant yeasty sweet finish. After a long hot day this is very good. Interesting and refreshing. I wouldn't mind drinking this until I pass out. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear light gold with a short lived small white head, loads of bubbles! A very lively beer. A great mix of Belgian yeast with bubblegum sweetness balanced by barnyard dankness, old wet hay, good sour funk. Crisp & refreshing, zesty, thereís a bit of spice and citrus, a very nice choice (pun intended) for a warm humid night.
