COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in wine barrels with orange peel, Sofie is a tart, dry, sparkling ale. A subtle, spicy white pepper note, a hint of citrus from the orange peel and a creamy vanilla finish make Sofie an intriguing choice for Champagne drinkers and beer drinkers who are fond of Belgian Saisons.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2014 From bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of Belgian yeasts and a touch of citrus. Taste is the same, perfectly sweet, no real hops. There is a little bit of funk there in the background. Medium mouthfeel and good carbonation. This is a delicious brew.

Clear light gold with a short lived small white head, loads of bubbles! A very lively beer. A great mix of Belgian yeast with bubblegum sweetness balanced by barnyard dankness, old wet hay, good sour funk. Crisp & refreshing, zesty, there’s a bit of spice and citrus, a very nice choice (pun intended) for a warm humid night.

A 12 fl oz bottle bottled on 16th December 2015 and poured into a Cantillon ballon glass. It poured a slightly cloudy champagne gold colour with a one finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly but left some sparse lacing. Aromas are strong orange peel, juicy orange, lemon and white grape. Light funkiness with a hint of mango. Tastes a juicy mix of orange and lemon with a hint of mango. Light tartness, some peppery spice notes and a hint of bread on the finish. Light to medium bodied with moderate to high spritzy carbonation. Overall a great solid saison with nice juicy citrus notes. Very refreshing on a hot day.
