Cask at NotLA 2007 GI-wrigleyville. Surprised nobody entered this yet. This was my #2 vote of the night. Another realy hoppy strong ale amongst the others but more balanced and enjoyable than puckering hops. amber color. from the clybourn brewpub. I like how GI is brewing more of this hoppy beers, or dry-hopping matilda with simcoe hops. then again i’m a hophead.

Deep amber under sudsy white. MIld hop aroma with a pepperd character that rings of pepperoni. Add to that a touch of green asparagus and I can only guess that I’m hungry. I’d estimate the ABV at ~8%. Thick and smooth with a sweet, malty backdrop to the citrusy flavor.

NotLA3. my favorite beer at the festival probably. quite malty but terrifically well balanced. tons of round flavor, which was a nice departure from the dead horse hops everything else was. a tiny bit of wood

Nice treat for this hop-head. It’s an amber colored brew with a scant head that laces nicely nonetheless. I don’t know what the ABV is, but something about this beer lends a whiskey-like touch to the otherwise malty, hopped up aroma. Nicely balanced but with a slight sourness, the earthy hops build up in the flavor that ends on a hop-head pleasing bitter note. Nice.
